This is not a better option though. The only way for a 5' player to be successful in NHL is to be super-skilled, super-fast, super-tough and super-high hockey IQ smart. Czarnik is neither. He's a perennial hard-working tweener and will retire a perennial hard-working tweener.

Ask present and former NHL'ers when you have a chance: they hate it when coach messes with established lines. It's very hard to establish on-ice chemistry, when decisions are made in split second. Playing on the same line consistently helps players anticipate moves, positions, shots, passes on a subconscious level, without thinking. To keep challenging it does not help in any way, other than increasing the stress for all players. Every team goes through periods of low morale and being down on their luck. It will pass with some winning. Everyone knows what GML line can do when they are at their peak. They are our only legitimate first line. MMM line is our only legitimate second (even though many posters hate Frolik; he seems to be the only player on this roster who understands where to be when Backlund releases his weak shot entering zone and where to be when Tkachuk is behind the net). Mangiapane has the energy, but his plays are often dumb, rushed and unjustified. Even he is not ready to play on the 2nd line, really. And he is way ahead of Czarnik!
