I can't explain it any other way, but you look at that roster and outside of McDavid and Draisaitl its a complete trash heap, but on most nights they're getting above average goaltending, and they're scoring goals on un screened goalies from the blueline and just getting every possible. bounce. They're for the most part getting outplayed and yet they're winning games.

Maybe but I wouldn't read too much into this game...Avs have massive injuries including both their goalies

They’ll live and die with McDavid and Draisaitl. They’re both having a white hot start to the year so the team has a good record. But if you look at the games where McDrai don’t both get multiple points it’s pretty much an auto-loss. If those two cool down, the team will drop pretty dramatically. But they might be good enough to drag the rest of that garbage roster to the playoffs. We’ll see.
