I have a better chance of winning the Powerball lottery than the Jackets have knocking off TB.

Tampa has just put up the most dominant season in the salary cap era. I don't think the Blue Jackets can win a series against this juggernaut, but I do think they surprise people and put a scare in the Lightning. I expect Tampa wins in 5 closely contested games.

It would be amazing to see CBJ win this one. The franchise is nearly twenty-years old and has never played in the second round.

Lol, ok. I can do black and white. I think the odds of the Jackets winning are very very slim. Not really expecting someone to take a statement like that as a literal thing.

It'd be so sweet if CBJ can do it in 4 or 5 games, but 7 would be just as nice! Go with the huge underdog on this one.

I could see the BJs pull this one out. They have underperformed all year and have a lot of talent. This is a team that's capable of winning this series. It's not my base case. But I don't think it's a small probability event either.

Does everyone forget how unbelievably good TB have been this season? And how absolutely average Columbus has been? There is 30pts between them! This is not close. Not at all. TB in 4... 5 if Bob plays lights out.

There was 33 points between Washington and Montreal in 2010, and then Washington got Halak'd. I do think this Tampa team is far better than that Capitals team so Bobrovsky stealing the series isn't likely, but if somehow the Jackets win it won't even be the biggest upset of the last 10 years

People love upsets, and upsets happen with some frequency. I don’t think anyone is dismissing Tampa’s achievement, but anything can happen in the playoffs and it would be fun and amazing to see CBJ advance against these odds.

There's a considerably higher chance that the Avalanche upset the Flames than Columbus upsetting Tampa Bay. Considerably higher! I would bet every last penny I have on the Lightning getting into the 2nd round. Don't confuse what you hope happens with what you think is a real possibility.

Definitely, upsets are great. But from what I’ve seen of both teams, I can’t imagine this one being close. CBJ hasn’t seen the second round, I highly doubt this will be the year it happens.

I wonder if there is a line for losses by TB in the playoffs and what it would be
O/U 6.5?

Tampa can be beaten. But I wouldn't expect it in the first round.
Not against a mediocre team.

Some teams do flip a switch when the playoffs start, and CBJ feels like a team that could do it. They are a good team; a deep team that disappointed this year, and they play in front of a marquis goalie.
The Blue Jackets come in with a chip on their shoulder, nothing to lose, and dragons to slay. Entering UFA Bobrovsky will want to correct his post-season history. The team has a long, sad history of heartbreak. No one is giving these guys a chance in this series, and when you have as much talent as Columbus does that can be enough to push them over the top.
I think Tampa wins this series, but I bet it goes six or seven games. I sure as hell will be cheering hard for Columbus. Kiss my ass, TB.

I would bet on literally any other eastern team against the Jackets. They're only in the playoffs because everyone else in the east were kind of bad this year.
.
Sure, they'll put up a fight, and first round matchups often go long because the losing side has a lot of energy to grind some wins.
Yeah yeah every team gets hot sometime and they could flick a switch... But with half their key players already one foot out the door? That would be pretty unheard of.

Between this and your hate of the Sharks and Jets, I'm beginning to really, really like you.
