Feels like a game we should dominate. I think we will. 5-2

But that is likely not what will happen. Even if Smith has a decent game I expect fans on this site to whine about everything he does.

Smith has a record of 12-9-1 this year. You'd think it was 0-21-1 reading this thread.
Flames should be able to win this game with Smith. Top line back on track and Flames win 5-2 and don't give up that last minute goal after scoring into the empty net.

That’s not even possible because Mike Smith is a goaltender and he doesn’t even play baseball.

I don't see that. Most are predicting a few goals allowed by Smith that most would consider to be softies (many examples of that this season) and that the Flames will need to score more than 2 or 3 because of it. Completely fair, given what's transpired this season.

I'd take this bet over winning the Lotto Max.

Hey man, that's really cool. Here's some more numbers.
Out of 83 goalies who have played in the NHL this year Smith's Sv% is 71st at 0.886 (and Smith has THREE TIMES as many minutes or more than everyone below him) and a GSAA of -13.13. (Worst by a mile of any goalie who faced enough shots to calculate)

That’s more indicative to the team in front of him then his actual play, especially when the second year goalie on this team is 16-4. If Smith was on the Coyotes still he wouldn’t be close to that record

Counting stats are bad and you should feel bad for using them.

Smith let’s in 4 or 5 1st period goals. Tre gets so frustrated he trades him mid game. But not during intermission or a commercial break even. Mid shift 5 on 5 Peters frantically calls Smith to the bench. Thinking he’s missed a delayed penalty call Smith obliges and skates to the bench. Confused when a 6th skater doesn’t hop on the ice, he’s quickly ushered aside and told he’s been traded and to leave the arena immediately. But so angered is Tre that he refuses to provide Smith transportation. Instead he’s forced to borrow those roller skate guards from Rittich (who is now in net, posts a shutout in relief, two assists including the gwg and a fight, named 1st 2nd and 3rd Star) and is forced to embarrassingly roller skate in full equipment all the way home.
His name is never spoken of again. Tre doesn’t even announce the trade, just pretends Smith never even played for the Flames.
