I get the frustration and pessimism, I just can't bring myself to be negative day in and day out in regards to a hockey team.

I find it more fun to be hopeful than to be a Debbie Downer no matter how bad the Flames situation is.

Just how I'm wired I guess. No more right or wrong that people wired the compete opposite.

I could really see them losing this one in a no-effort snoozefest. That's how little faith I have left.

I'd be a lot more on board with losing getting rid of the coach if it wasn't making the Islanders pick way better.

The ideal scenario is make the playoffs and fire the coach anyway. Missing is a disaster. It doesn't really matter that the Hamonic trade wasn't for one season and it's a long term acquisition. If you think Treliving accepted that the pick could be in the lottery, even with the poor odds at 12-14th draft slot, you're high.

Lose this one, and they're in serious trouble as far as their playoff hopes. None of the California teams, Minny, or St. Louis are dropping out of the race anytime soon.

If they can get their s**t together and make the dance, I think a wildcard spot is their only shot. I honestly don't think they're gonna catch the Sharks or Ducks at this point, as those teams are just too consistently good to drop out of the race.

Gillies has to start. Rittich you can tell is frustrated and his body language show's it.
We can't score when it matters so what do we do?

I don't know why I still care but I guess I'm just a Gulutzan for punishment.

I hope this team hasn't given up but i think half the roster or.more just don't care for Glen and his assistants , his system or his feeble excuses.

Do we win tonight ? This team just doesn't have it mentally. There's no heart, commitment , etc.

If these guys cared as much as most posters on CP we'd have willed ourselves into the playoffs already.

I don't care if we lose , just make an effort to show you don't like losing.

What's going on is more than just not getting breaks. The Flames are 5-5-5 in the last 15 games....many with Smith in net as the number 1. They have not been playing well for a while and have been wildly inconsistent within games themselves.

To me this looks like a classic situation where a team is tuning out the coaching staff with so many breakdowns that should not be happening to a good, veteran club. The effort tonight will be telling against a complete doormat of a team the Flames should handily embarrass.

I think we've got this one in the bag. While everyone has been waiting for GG to try Tkachuk on the top line, he's been in his secret lair devising a plan nobody ever suspected, and will have no counter for... Hathaway on the top line!

He's as cunning as Dr. Evil.

Games remaining... Flames still have room to take care of business, but they actually need to wake the F up. Winning the games remaining vs the Pacific is a must.

If we can go on a run here before the 5 in 6 versus divisional rivals that are in the hunt that would be huge for our playoff hopes.

7-3 In the next 10 games is doable ~ especially in the 2nd 5 game segment.

I expect another heavy dosage of Brouwer back on the PP tonight as Gulutzan's master plan to success.

Yeah yeah guys, it may not work, like at all, but imagine if it did? Oh the accolades that would rain down on him for the out of the box thinking.

You gotta at least try for those accolades. Results are overrated.

Going to the game tonight. If I see Gio's mom I will say hi. I may have to wait until Mrs. GioforPM is in the bathroom or something.

I know that was a joke, but the powerplay was one thing that looked ok last game. Hamilton makes a huge difference, mainly because he's fond of taking that wrister, and isn't afraid to move in.

Yes. I think thats nik's point. How long did it take for GG to get Hamilton on that powerplay?
