Well, Lomberg isn't going to be some kind of an enforcer here. He is scrappy, but he is also a fairly smart player who brings speed and some jam.
With that being said, I am not sure it is the greatest of ideas to turn this game into a chippy one. I would rather Ferland not have to end up fighting Lucic, Maroon, Kassian and Nurse. If the Flames want to have that type of game, they should just call up Prout and Gazdic to even-out the size.
I do, however, think that the 4th line can definitely play with a bit more physicality and provide that kind of energy. I just don't want it to turn into a scrap-filled night when you are comparing rosters. Flames are the much faster team. Lomberg adds to that IMO, and the Flames would do better if they just all skate hard as a group tonight.

I think Brouwer can drop the gloves, same goes with Gio when he has to, Bennett seems to do well, Ferland and Tkachcuk are scrappy and Hamonic and Stone could drop the gloves too. I don't mind if it gets chippy tonight, maybe it'll spark something in the team.

I am with you 99.9% of the time. I like emotion-filled games. That is the reason I wouldn't want to see fighting banned in hockey, as I do think that it can make for some really passionate games, sometimes sparking both teams.
The problem I have is with the reputations over there. Lucic, Nurse and Kassian all have had the reputation of just 'jumping' guys. There is no 'code' to them - not when they suddenly feel like playing chippy anyways. They also have Maroon to the mix who I don't think has that reputation, but is going to be hard to handle.
Flames have a tonne of team toughness - but if those guys decide to goon it up after the game gets chippy, then the Flames don't really have an answer for that. It can be quite deflating to a team - ala Buffalo when Lucic ran Miller, and Vancouver when Calgary steamrolled them that night.
That's what I think anyway. If they anticipate a nasty affair, then this is the exact type of game to dress guys like Gazdic and Prout - at least you aren't exchanging skilled players and risking injury, and they can keep their goons tied up at worst, if not completely restrained.
I was at the Dome for the last BOA game, I noticed during the warm ups Maroon and Kassian were beaking off to Smith for about 10 minutes. Not one Flame skated over to defend him. This is the kind of game we need a enforcer.
I wish there was a better video of the fight. It looked like Lomberg tagged Kassian really good which got him down. Lomberg was also shaking his hand out in the penalty box in a cocky way, like "I got you so good, my hand hurts" look. Kassian was also really pissed too.

Loved watching Lomberg laugh at Kassian. I mean Kassian is such a knuckle head.
Hoping Lomberg has earned himself a few more games up here and not just for the scrap....we need more of that on this team. All heart.
