There were 3 attempts to enter the zone. The puck exited within 10 seconds everytime...

Momentum killing pp leads to other team scoring. I realize that's not how it happened but the pp is hurting the team.

He has eyes on the back of his head?
His teammates need to communicate the backcheck to him.

3 things I didn't like about that goal:
1) overcommitment by Kulak on the boards when he's outnumbered. Then he doesn't take his man heading back to the net. 2 bad mistakes by Kulak there.
2) Stone lays down, taking himself out of the play. He didn't need to do that. He could have been more effective if he stayed on his skates. There wasn't a cross-crease pass for him to stop.
3) Let's call that an "unenthusiastic" back check by Monahan, letting his guy go right to the puck with little to dissuade him.

He also needs to be aware of what’s going on around him, he was 1 on 3, get the puck deep, pretty straight forward.

Flames the better team...keep playing their game and bury some chances.

This has to be the quietest game thread in a while.

Wild and Ducks both ahead in their games, need a win here and implosions over there.

Its because they were winning for the majority of that period. Watch the thread blow up if the Flames give up the next goal

Argh... Ferland seemed to be 1 on 3 there. He's usually really smart in just getting it deep there... The defensive coverage lacking after that and it's tied.
Flames look like the better team by a decent margin but yet another 1st period where they fail to come out with a Lead

Plenty of good in that period, decent chances, JG has jump, they caused more turn overs then they gave, some physicality. PK completely shut them down. Bad defensive breakdown lead to a goal which sucked but the team came right back with a few good chances.
I find that Hockey is a lot of fun to watch if I don’t just focus on the negatives.

Really exciting period, hope to see some more of that and they should win this game pretty handedly imo despite an ugly bunch of brain farts from everyone leading to a goal

I'd rather have Glencross on the panel than Francis.

Well that was an entertaining period. Thought we should be up but of course it's tied. Oh well guess we can be down a goal like usual
