Vlasic has played a lot of hockey: 812 regular season games and 114 playoff games plus an extra 29 games representing Canada at international level.

Gio, for comparison, even if he is a couple of years older, has 673 regular season games and 8 playoff games.

Vlasic's much longer seasons might eventually catch up with him.

These players are not there to give teams hometown discounts. They are getting paid fairly. In general players have to pay escrow, taxes, agent fees etc. LA signed huge contracts to reward their players. SJ's doing it without winning cups, they've had soldout building cause of these players.
