Wow crazy money. I almost thought this thread was a bump from his last contact so I had to look it up. 4 years $2.75M per year. Even that contract was an overpay but at least it was for a 25 year old Clutterbuck with room to improve. Giving him another 5 at $3.5 is just insane.

He wears an A.

Reminds me of the dipietro deal. Wang fell in love with the guy and gave him whatever amount he asked for.

Not sure why this contract gets so much hate and the Brouwer contract is thought of as fair.

Clutterbuck has played with Tavares since junior. Maybe the new ownership realized they dropped the ball letting too many guys walk away, and this is supposed to be a peace offering to Tavares, as needing to sign him long term approaches.
