Exactly the same. Made a couple decent defensive plays versus the suicide pass the last game, not much else though.

Loubo is comparing Johnson's play to Kiprusoff on the Fan.

Can't argue with that based on his starts this season.

Had to watch the game on my iPad (mice hockey?) - loved it! Thought the Flames have really come together right now - great to see them standing up for each other and getting in other teams' faces. Johnson was outstanding. Thought Ferland is really growing as a player - he makes smart passes, forechecks well, hangs out disrupting plays and works hard as $%%% to get back if he screws up.

Let's keep 'er going boys!

Great road game by the entire team.

Backlund line was great again.

The team just seems to play a lot better with Chad behind them.

Flames are 5-2 in their last 7 now.

1-0 @ MIN
2-1 (OT) vs ARZ (back to back)

2-3 loss vs CHI (very strong game though)
3-2 @ DET
2-4 loss @ BUF (back to back... but ugly game)
2-0 @ CBJ
2-1 @ BOS

14 goals for in those 7 games.
11 goals against in those 7 games.

I'd really like this team to not have to rely on Johnson standing on his head to win, but that was still a good road effort all around.

this past few stretch of games is the tightest defensively the flames have played in years. can't see the flames of last year hang in there in a grind-fest against the bruins.

As the saying goes, you need the goaltender to steal you a game every once in a while. Last year, we didn't have that, but I think we can all agree that Chad Johnson has stole us at least a couple of wins in the last 7 games.

Hopefully with these wins under their belt some of the pressure will back off and the can relax a bit to play a more natural game and rely on each other much like tonight.

Hopefully the last few games will prove to be a building block.

There is hope for this team.
So true. The passing has been much more crisp, especially getting pucks out of the zone, and through the neutral zone. They were even making plays in space in the offensive zone -- highlighted by Bennett's sweet backhand pass on the GWG.

Flames hockey is watchable again. The effort is there; no stupid giveaways that end up in our net; no more drop passes or guys trying to make fancy plays all by themselves. Simple, smart hockey, and the guys are executing. Having a goalie playing lights out doesn't hurt either.

He was unnoticeable, not bad not good. An improvement vs last few games.

We're not seeing too many of those stupid blue line to blue line cross-ice passes anymore either, which at least offers an indication that Gulutzan is capable of changing up his system a little.
