I like eggs for breakfast, but I don't want to a see a fried egg staring back at me from my burger or on top of my dinner. I avoid Korean restaurants for this reason - even when I tell them to hold the egg, it still arrives on my meal. I don't like hard boiled eggs in my chef salad, and egg salad is just the worst thing ever.
Bacon is great any time. The Palomino does great corn on the cob wrapped with bacon.

Eggs Benedict is an amazing dinner. Plain old bacon, eggs and toast is a close second. I probably have those for dinner more than the standard dinner fare.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Breakfast food tends to be higher energy food though and my metabolism doesn't handle it well.
When I was younger though, it was Humpty's breakfast every Saturday night after the bar.

I would occasionally do it when I worked graveyard shifts but it didn't seem to odd then. Breakfast in the afternoon/evening when you woke up seemed a little more normal than breakfast at 7am just before you were going to bed.

The only thing weird is how some people keep themselves from having delicious food at all hours of the day. Food should be consumed whenever the hell you feel like it... minus perhaps heath considerations.
I freaking love Eggs Benedict for dinner and breakfast cereals for snacks (ie: Watching a movie). Hash House A Go Go's Fried chicken Benedict in Vegas for dinner/after drinking is a personal favourite. Been looking for a place in Calgary that reasonably compares.
The Beerios suggestion is gross though. Literally felt like I had vomited liquid bread before it had even entered the body. Horrible waste of beer and cereal.

I wish more places in Calgary (ie: pubs) served breakfast all day. Seriously its 9pm at night, how hard can it be to fry up some eggs and bacon... please.... pretty please. Pretty much the only thing good about National is their all day breakfast.

I think it's weird. I have no reason to think so, but I think it's weird. So sue me.

Breakfast sausages, beans, and toast are a standard dinner in our household. However, I don't do pancakes for dinner. That would remind me too much of my impoverished students days when all I could afford was pancakes.

It's also incredibly cheap for the restaurant. The markup on eggs, toast, and hasbrowns is insane.

No it's not weird. It's fantastic. We have brinner once a month or so at our house.

The reason it's rate is a few different things:
1) Cooking eggs requires a certain amount of skill. Usually restaurants morning cooks aren't the same as the nighttime ones
2) the flattop is used for many different foods at night but only eggs in the am. Because the oils of the foods you cook on it persist unless you scrub it is hard not to have eggs that taste like garlic toast if you're not careful.
3) you need a lot of things ready (prepped) to cook breakfasts (hashbrowns cooked and warm, eggwash for French toast ready, poaching pot hot and ready, etc) that you don't necessarily have room for all day
The more you know ...

We've called it "breakfast supper" since my kids were little. Probably their favorite type of supper.

not weird at all ... pretty common over here, actually. Bread/toast, sausage, cheese, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, radish ... heaven.

The weird thing about this thread is that someone (or sometwo) think it's weird in the first place.
My mom somehow tricked usinto thinking it was some big treat when we were kids. She'd cook a roast and all the delicious extras for four hours on Sunday and we'd be all like "meh", but whip up some pancakes in 10 minutes on Wednesday and it was like we won the lottery. Ingrates.

The fact that only certain foods are acceptable during certain times is such a weird concept.
Growing up a lot of the time I'd have the same sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Probably why I hate rye bread so much now.

My dad is like that. Before a day of hiking or skiing I'll usually have a bowl of chilli or something and a couple eggs for breakfast since it keeps me going longer than standard breakfast fare.
He just thinks I'm bizarre while he eats his 4 pieces of toast and complains he's already hungry at 10:30.
