Even if they're not good enough for anyone else they're still good enough for the Oilers!

I know the Oilers have been a house of horrors, but I didn't realize it was the Addams Family.

Cracknell is a fringe NHLer, but when he was with the Blues, he would always put in an all out effort. Something that can't be said of most Oilers. He is an upgrade on what they have

Do you think Chia put MacT in charge of waiver claims and told him, "only put in a claim if it's a damn good player", and Mr MBA misunderstood the instructions?
Brilliant.

Which says virtually nothing. The Oilers could literally pick up ANY player and it would count as an upgrade. Jeff O'Niell and Ray Ferrarro would be upgrades.

Agreed 100%. Therefore, not a good fit.

Prior to this year, Cracknel's career high in games was 24. This year, he has 44 games on an awful Canucks team. Now he moves to the Oilers. He might be a hard worker, but he is also barely an NHL player, and at this point, only on very bad teams.

If the Oilers think he is a better option than some random call-up from Bakersfield, that only speaks to an utter lack of organizational depth.

My first thought was "Fringe NHL'ers move to Fringe NHL team."

My second thought of course was "Eww. The oilers aren't even a fringe NHL team. Off to wash brain with soap."

I am sorry.

That does make me feel old.

I liked Pardy when he was here, but picking up a shut down defenseman on the wrong side of 30 that has never been more than a tweener is not a move to build on.
