Lidstrom's a no brainer. 7 Norris trophies will do that for you, I guess.

Not good enough. At least it shouldn't be. But it probably will be. But that's the problem. The credentials you just listed shouldn't be enough to get him, or anyone else, in.
But then you have Bernie Federko.

Mogilny should be in there already even if he only played one NHL game. The dude escaped in a trunk of a car to play in the NHL setting up the wave of Russian players to follow.
Then he had a 76 goal season.
First European captain.
Second highest scoring Russian.
He deserves it.

Lindros deserves it as well. He was the best player in the world for three straight seasons. It's not hockey hall of longevity, it's the hall of fame. You put the best players in.

Damn you!
That pic should've been a spoiler with a warning!
I've managed to avoid it for 11 years and 23 days.
It ruined my lunchbreak.

So, I'm wondering why no one has mentioned Theo yet? Am I the only one who thinks he is deserving of being in the HHOF?
I mean, look:
He won a Cup, Olympic gold (lead team in points), and a world junior gold (he was captain of that team in '88).
he is 60th in all-time NHL scoring, 10th in all-time WHL scoring.
He lead his team in points in 7 of his 15 seasons.
Theo was a 1.00 PPG player both in the regular season and in the playoffs.
Of the last 40 HHOF inductees 16 have played fewer games, 18 have fewer points, and 24 have fewer goals than Fleury. Also, 8 have not won a single Cup.
You could argue that Theo was a beneficiary of being a rookie on a great Cup winning team, but the same could be said for half a dozen HHOF guys.
You could argue that Theo was a whiner - but so was Gretzky and Bure and others - or that Theo was a jerk - but I am sure Anderson, Ciccerelli, and others were not saints. You could argue that there were spotty off ice issues - but remember Ciccerelli was arrested and went to court at least once, Glimour left STL under a cloud of suspicion, Anderson still owes child payments, and I don't think those players in the 70's went out after a game for brie and Chablis.
And he is working really hard to put it all together again and help people by sharing his story and promoting an issue few talk about.
I think Theo is far more deserving than Lindros, Karyia, Molgilny, or Roenick.
But, for reasons I don't know, somehow I think it is just me.

I agree, Theo should be in the HHOF, Vernon too for that matter.

This thread got me thinking, is Gary Suter the highest scoring defenseman to not be in the HHOF? I believe all 13 guys ahead of him are in the hall. Cheap-shot against Kariya aside, he's pretty deserving of being in there.

Re Theo - likely the HOF voters have similar reservations for admission as the Flames do about honouring his jersey. He embarrassed the NHL/Flames and it'll take awhile for that to fix itself. Agree or not, Theo needs to continue down the right path for a few years and keep his mouth shut.
Re Pronger - silly loophole that should be fixed. Longer wait or same waiting period but you cannot still be under contract for professional hockey. Definitely deserving though. One of the best defensemen ever and he stomped on Kesler.

Coyotes fans are gushing on Twitter about how their Pronger is going to the HOF.

Add Makarov as well. If Hakan Loob stayed in the NHL at least 5 more years, we are probably talking about him as well.
