Buffalo wouldn't do that, but I'm quite happy to take quality over quantity.

We have plenty of picks in the first three rounds already.

Hey, if other posters are entitled to crazy trade up into to the top 10 scenarios, I am entitled to my crazy trade down scenarios!

Besides never say never, Tim Murray is a guy who obsesses over prospects he likes.

Going Kylington based strictly on upside.

Could be that he Has all the tools but no tool box...or was he just trying to do too much after struggling in a men's league as a 17 year old.

That's fair. Though I see Murray as a guy who obsesses over value charts for draft picks.

I'd be all over this and willing to add to get it done. Precedent with Buffalo was 14 for 21 and 42 in 2012 so the Flames would likely have to add.

Pretty good chance one of the guys you were hoping for at 15 is still available at 21 and then I'd hope like hell that Kylington falls out of the first round and grab him with the 31st pick.

Unlikely scenario but I'd be quite happy.

I'd actually love it if Calgary traded down and picked up another 2nd rounder. There are so many guys in this draft to like. Unless Calgary absolutely loves one guy that is still available at 15, I say trade down.

What about 15 and 52 for 21 and 31?

What is the story with Kylington's downward trajectory?

I wasn't all that sold on him when he was ranked top 10, but it's strange to see him free-falling.

If he continues to fall at this rate we could potentially snag him with one of our 2nd rounders and it wouldn't be as much of a risk.

I'm leaning towards Zboril, Svechnikov, Carlo or Roy at this stage.

Kylington for sure. He can skate, he has elite upside, and his deficiencies can be corrected with time and the right support imo. I think he's worth the risk at #15, especially since the Flames are in dire need of elite potential players on the blue line.

I voted for Svechnikov but, typically, I've changed my mind.

My reasoning? I would rather pick a big, Russian RW sniper in the 2nd round by picking Nikita Korostelev: http://lastwordonsports.com/2015/05/...ta-korostelev/

Chabot for me, very, very closely followed by Kylington, and then Svechnikov.

Brock Boesner is very intriguing to me as well, but is more of a risk than these other three.

I would have said Konecny if we didn't already have quite a few smaller forwards. Although he could be a nice replacement for Hudler.

Why isn't Nick Merkley listed?

My vote went to Chabot, but if it happens to be Svechnikov, I'll also be over the moon. Two very intriguing prospects ... just awesome that the Flames can draft a prospect like that after two rounds of playoffs.

In my own perfect world, one of them falls a bit and the Flames trade up and walk home with both of them. Not going to happen, but one can dream, right?

Although not at 15, I think the Flames take Carlo. I think they may trade back a couple spots and take him.

Went Kylington because I really don't have a good read on the draft this year, really have no idea where players will fall and Kylington is one that I still am really high on. Really just a complete guess though this year.

I think the choice here is really about your risk tolarance. If you're willing to take a bit of a gamble I think you go with Kylington... He could be the next Erik Karlsson (or he could be the next David Rundblad). The range of outcomes is rather wide but with the risk comes the chance for significant reward.

Went with Brandon Carlo. A 6'5" d-man who is a strong skater is a rare thing. Plus he already has a strong defensive game, probably one of the most positionally sound d-men in this year's draft.

Plus he plays mean. Not a 6'5 softie. Exactly what Calgary needs.
