I kind of figured he was a pretty good guy, but I had no idea he was as highly respected and well thought of within the community and franchise as he was.

I like that that he took a page from Iginla's book and did a majority of his community work away from the camera and the mic. That speaks volumes.

As a semi aside, I loved the Hartley move of making the whole team bid him farewell, not just Russel. It says so much about what is going on with this team right now.

Well Glenny, wish you could've given us your best before you left, which I know is far from what you've shown, but distractions make things difficult.

You'll probably score 30 next season though. Have fun playing with Ovie. Thanks for ditching Edmonton for the far superior Alberta team and sticking with us all these years! You'll be a Flame before anything else regardless of where you go.
