So what do you think Glencross will get for his UFA contract?

I really hope that it isn't a Hartley problem with one his few veterans and rather that Glencross wants the 5M / 4 year deal and the Flames don't want to go that way.

Someone who is going to get 5M and play in your top 6 has to be close to a late round 24-30 pick as a playoff rental.

Stempniak who was a classic journeyman got a 3rd round #84 overall as a Playoff rental... Stempniak signed a 900k 1 year deal as a UFA in the off-season.

Glencross HAS to be worth more than a #54-56 and #84-86 overall (2nd and 3rd)

I think they will get a 3rd and a 5th. Part of that is because of his list, if it was open to all teams Flames would get more, but I think they will get less value due to the list.

Then it is a no-brainer to keep him

I tend to agree with you. So if the Flames aren't going to sign him now or in the off season, do they just let him walk or take whatever they can now?

I have a feeling that the return will be underwhelming and most will be disappointed in whatever we get for him.

We will see how Treliving handles some pressure with this trade.

I really hope we get a young defenseman who can play in the NHL. I am willing to add to make this happen.

Yeap, and if he's a mobile right handed shot PMD it would be a bonus.

Super bonus points if he has size too.

Tampa has two 3rd round picks. If they offer up both of them, I'd happily take them for Glencross. Still in a rebuilding mindset the Flames only have their picks in the top three rounds and don't have their 4th rounder. That's not really an acceptable amount of picks IMO.

Two thirds or 2nd and a 4th, those type of combinations I'd be totally okay with.

I went with the 2nd round pick but I wouldn't be surprised if all we get offered is 3rds.

If there had been a 3rd round pick option I would have chosen that.

I pick 3rd. At a 3rd, I'd just keep him for a *fingers crossed* playoff push.

The Flames will want a 2nd and a prospect.
I think they will get a 2nd only or a 3rd and a prospect.
I would like to see the Flames get a 2nd for Glencross.

I think we've tapped out our home run deals for the next 4 years by snagging a second for Reto Berra.
