According to the report on The National, when the police went to the second house, the man wasn't there (or there was no evidence he was there). So, it's not like they left knowing a distraught person was in the house with other individuals, including kids.

I live in Edmonton (terwillegar) and very close to haddow. In fact I have a few friends that live there. Scary to think something so crazy could happen in a seemingly good/safe area.

Absolutely crazy

good/safe area is pretty irrelevant in a domestic.

Just watching Global News.

The person who committed the crime was known to police and had a record dating back 30 years.

Police Chief is calling them as appearing "planned and deliberate"

Police went to check on the house where 7 deceased were found earlier in the night but no one answered the door and nothing seemed suspicious. They returned hours later to follow up on something and discovered the bodies.

I lived in Manitoba for 5 years, now that's a dangerous Province, Winnipeg and the North.

I lived in Northern Manitoba for 30 of my 33 years. It's really no worse than any other province. I've been on the west coast the last 3 years and feel pretty safe in North Vancouver but hearing all that happens in Surrey scares me more than Manitoba ever did.
