It came from a twitter feed that also announced the Thiessen signing. Can't find it now.

However it appears the Thiessen thing is now confirmed:

Thiessen played in the Finnish league in HIFK. Ortio joined the Flames organization from HIFK. It's just that Thiessen was AWFUL.

Sharks fans via HFboards regarding Acolatse.

Not qualifying Sena Acolatse, who was the WorSharks 2nd best defenseman last season, makes little sense.

I'd like to think that maybe they've talked to him and will sign him to an AHL deal but I don't really think that.

Even if he was the 3rd or 4th best d-man he should be signed for another year. Really not happy about this one.

Which makes no sense considering what his QO would cost San Jose...and it's not like he misses games due to soft tissue injures, all his injuries have been broken bones from blocked shots.

So my dream of seeing Sena Acolatse play for the San Jose Sharks is dead??

I had high hopes for Sena. I seriously hope they agreed to something with him. I could see how they wouldn't want to use a spot with his health concerns. I guess.

Now I generally pay no attention to how quickly players who weren't qualified find NHL jobs, but under 72 hours seems pretty quick to me.

Could be the underrated signing of the off-season.
