A few of the movies mentiond here I absolutely loved, the first being About a Boy. Having read the book beforehand and then learning that Hugh Grant was going to be playing the male lead I was really worried actually, and you know what I consider that to be his breakout performance in terms of being a fairly serious actor. He got rid of that stupid hair and the stupid british man act and focused on something worthwhile.
The other Hugh Grant movie that I like, that is sort of a gay movie is the Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain. Once again with Hugh Grant, but it was a quirky comedy.
Other more chick flicks include
- Pleasentville
- Door to Door
- What women want

I cried during Armageddon.

Ya but you cried for the same reason I did. Because you'll never get those two hours of your life back.... [/b][/quote]
I really liked Armageddon. Seriously.
And I liked The Notebook too. This movie is interesting because both the lead actor and lead actress are Canadian. What was the last Hollywood movie where that was the case? Has it ever happened?

How about "As Good As It Get's"? I liked that one, but I'm not sure if it counts, normally if it's romance or a girly drama I'll avoid it at all costs.

Dude, that is a very not-gay movie, even though I believe they handed out bags of AIDS with every movie ticket you bought at the theater.

Grant... TOTALLY agree. That part where he's climbing the fence and keeps saying "whoopsie daisies"!
|
I have a confession to make. I'm English and I say "Whoopsie daisy" when I make a prat of myself. That part of the movie just about killed me laughing so hard....
Oh, and I like most of Grant's movies too. About a boy is a personal favourite of mine.
