I didn't think he'd get a whole lot more than a cup of coffee or at the most an entry level contract.

FWIW I remember just after Adam Pardy was drafted, someone (MMF?) did a interview with Tod Button and asked who his favourite dark horse prospect was.... he said Adam Pardy.

I wish I could remember what my old username was back on those old forums, I used something before KFF. I also wish I could remember who I got in a heated discussion with when the Flames left Sergei Krivokrasov unprotected in the expansion draft. Good times Was it Frosty Mug? That's going to annoy me now.

I had 2 other id's before settling on this one, One goes back to 2003, and had a total of 1 post and the other has disappeared, even though I know that one had a bunch of posts.

I'd really actually thank a lot of the people who routinely disagree and debate my nonsense, they keep me honest and force me to work hard at making my points.
Even if it seems like I'm a pi$$y old man that dosen't like anyone, I can honestly say that I'm a pi$$Y old man who enjoys this virtual community.
And hey if I hadn't become a member, I wouldn't have watch a Flames game with trout, or bought my jeep from Pylon or done some other really cool things.

Hey! Your post reminds me of our '04 Toronto CP playoff meets. Those were some fun nights. I can't remember the name of the Sports bar we took over. I will never forget CBC came to cover us during the final game. There was great footage of us celebrating, then a closeup of my face after loss. My parents in Halifax saw my heartbreak on the CBC National.

I joined after the run because I had no idea this place even existed.
In Summary: bandwagoner.

I joined in my mid 40's and now that i'm into my 50's I find that i've learned a lot from your posts and from many others on this forum. The wealth of information and variety of opinions always gives me pause for thought. Maybe us old farts could get a customer user title.

I mainly just lurk, so I don't even know when my start date, is as I never see my name in any threads. I believe it is just over 11 years now.

Sounds like something I would have done.

It is in your profile. Your start date was October 19, 2002.
Mine was April 9, 2004, so just about when the playoffs were starting. Now that I think of it, I am pretty sure I signed up with a different account before this one but I don't think I made any posts, or very little if I did. I don't remember what that account would be named.
In fact, I wasn't Buff when I first joined up with this account. I "qualified" to change my name when they updated forum software. I think it was the last time they were going to allow name changes.

Ha, it could have been. I just remember I had a total dislike for Clarke Wilm and Krivo actually looked good for a stretch. Basically, I just wanted Wilm gone, so was pretty ticked when Krivo was left unprotected.
Man, those teams back then were pretty pathetic

Yikes! I thought you were leaving when I saw the thread title!
Yup, ten years, I guess I jumped in a few months after, just before the playoffs started I believe.
It was another CP legend that told me about the site, Facepaint! I had actually been sitting just behind him in good ol' section 218 back then. Since the Save the Flames campaign of 2000 when I bought tickets. I believe he and his friends bought in 99. Some of them posted on here too, but I forget their user names. There was one with a Vernon username.
Each consecutive year after that we kept adding to our group till we had taken over the majority of the section, haha. The lot of us including his friends and my friends (and my sister, who went from being a Dallas first fan to a Calgary first fan as we slowly freed her mind) actually became fast friends and ended up sharing a lot of good times together besides just going to hockey games. Oh and our usher became part of our group too, which had some benefits when it came to getting away with a little bad behaviour at the games occasionally. In all honestly, very occasionaly, we were pretty responsible and most people were excited to sit in our section with us.
Anyway, yeah ten years! Good to have met you too MQS and many others on the site I have become friendly with. Here's to another ten!

I joined April 23 2004 after lurking for awhile.
Like many have already said about their last decade, I too have had some crazy highs and some crushing lows in my personal life. during some of those low times, CP provided support and a welcome diversion from whatever was the challenge at that time. I have never knowingly met a fellow CPer, but have recommended the site to others many times.
I was just doing 10 years out planning the other day; thanks for the chance to look 10 years back!

It was called Scores, I believe. Though it has long since been abandoned. I was in Calgary for the last game and never knew that CBC went there to cover you guys.
I guess it will take another year until we can call Flames fans out of the woodwork for a playoff run.
