Jason Gregor @JasonGregor 21m Pretty classless by Kassian to motion to his chin and say "what is this" to Gagner referencing the broken jaw Kassian gave him with a stick.

Kassian may be mentally challenged. It would also explain the way he plays.

Worked the game tonight and from everything I saw goaltending is far from the oilers only problem. Dubnyk faced so many high quality chances it was ridiculous, most on turnovers. The oilers to a man make bad play after bad play. Poor decision after poor decision. All flash with no substances. Just bad bad hockey players.
Ill times passes, blinded passes at their own blue line, no pucks deep, trying to deke 4 opponents. I could go on and on.
As a hockey fan I was embarrassed watching that.

You can blame Dubnyk as much as you want, but with the shot quality the guy faces every game, I'd be surprised if everytime a opposition player winds up he hears paint it black by the rolling stones and starts shaking.
At this point, Oiler fans have to be realistic, yes with the exception on Yakapov their big 4 generate points, but they are either too stupid to learn how to play defense or too lazy, and at some point you have to blame Edmonton's drafting philosophy or player development, but their top 6 is becoming an illustration of failure.
For those Oiler fans that think that the Oilers are a defensemen and a center and a goalie from competing, they are a lot further away then that. The Oilers need a culture transplant from top to dressing room. Hall would probably be the only one worth seriously investing in and even he is remarkably one dimensional.
I'm almost willing to be that the Oilers are going to have to move from this rebuild to the next rebuild.
I also think watching Yakapov that he's thrown in the towel, there is no effort to his game at all. I would be willing to bet that at the end of the season he's either going to lay out an immediate trade demand or he'll threaten to go to the KHL since there's no chance that he's going to the Olympics.

It was nearly 6 years ago on Thurs. Dec. 27, Flames at Canucks. There was the special Habs-Flames Heritage Classic game on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011.

And people think we'll get a top 3 pick. 4th is the lowest I see us finishing but don't be shocked if we finish 6th again.

Well this looks like a normal OOT with most of the posts on the stupid Canucks and Oilers. Those Oilers look bad and Luongo gets the easy 19 save SHUTOUT as the Canucks win 4-0. The Canucks 4th line scored the last goal which was on the PP. The Capitals-Panthers game was interesting as the cats won 3-2 in the SO. All 4 goals were scored in the 2nd period and the SO went 10 rounds. Clemmensen was in net for Florida again as Thomas is out with an injury. No points for OV. Penguins hang on for the 3-2 reg win over the Devils who scored 2 quick ones in the 2nd period to make it close. Fleury was awesome in net as the Devils tried to tie the game, he faced 39 shots.

So Kassian was ribbing Gagner about his jaw? Gotta agree with the Edmonton media, that's pretty bush league stuff. What an idiot.

On the Kassian "incident" last night.
The Oilers never tried anything until a minute or so left in the game where Perron tried to run Kassian as Kassian was going to the bench. Kassian hadn't said a word or done anything at that point. Perron then very quickly ran away looking for a linesman to jump in which happened. With the linemen involved Gadzic "stepped up" and "challenged" Kassian and chirped. Perron chirped. The Oilers bench started chirping. THEN Gagner ran down the bench to chirp at Kassian. Around this time Kassian finally opened his mouth and made a comment and no one really knows if it was in response to Gagner chirping or in response to Gadzic's chirping (his bad neck beard the target of the comment). Kassian was always looking at Gadzic so the neck beard thing could have been the case or it could have been Gagner. Not that it really matters as in the end the Oilers did all the chirping at the beginning including a guy running down the bench to do so and then spend all the time whining when some chirping came back the other way.
It's trash talking and provided it didn't involve racial slurs or comments about family anything goes. And does go. Every night. That probably wasn't even the worst thing said or done on the night. It just happened to be caught on camera but it was all precipitated by the Oilers.

The Vancouver sun hockey blog seems pretty confident it was directed at Gagner.

I think Ryan Rishaug's tweet confirming that Kassian didn't reach out to Gagner after he broke his jaw says it all. I think it's pretty commonplace amongst NHLers to do so, regardless of intent.

No one is saying it was racist or the like, just classless. He injures a guy seriously, then taunts him about it the next time they play. Are you saying it wasn't classless?

Are you so numbed by the relentless parade of garbage from that team that you can't even see the difference between chirping and a completely classless and inappropriate action anymore?

Are you so blinded with hate about a team that you have become over sensitized to trash talk at a level that happens each and every game? I can all but guarantee you that it wasn't the worst thing said on the ice in that or any game. It was pretty tame. Hey Perron reportedly in his chirping called Kassian an alcoholic. It isn't that big of deal. It certainly isn't a big deal when Gagner runs the length of the bench to START the exchange (if the comment was indeed directed at Gagner which a Botchford article, a guy who doesn't like like Kassian, is really the only one that says so). If a guy doesn't want some comment coming back the other way then don't make one yourself first. Trash talk rules: don't use racial slurs, don't talk about family and for god sakes don't cry over it.

How about spray paint Lucic's families church that's ok in Vancouver as well right? You perpetuate the general opinion around the league that Canucks have the most DB players and fans.
