So you support Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in his Abenomics plan for Japan (and by extension the Japanese claim to the Senkaku Islands)?

Out of curiousity I googled japanese handspun sweat shirt. This thread was the second result. Curiousity still unfulfilled.

I've wiped my ass with better shirts than that.

The fact that you pluralized shirts, suggesting you've done it with shirts better than this more than once, leading me to question how many times you've done it with lesser quality shirts.
Why are you wiping your ass with clothing?

$100 for something that lasts and is comfortable isn't crazy. Not sure what people expect anymore, but you can't exactly buy any quality hoodie for less than $50 in most Canadian stores.
|
To add to this, the made in the America thing is important too. I'll pay a little bit extra to know my clothes weren't made by slaves or contain carcinogens.....not a huge amount extra, but a little bit...
Plus you are getting certainty here. You know the hoodie will last. I've bought hoodies for $40 and within a few washes, they start to fall apart at the seams, stretch out of shape, develop holes etc....
Once again, we're talking about $100 for a piece of outerwear, not $1000.

Just buy a lululemon hoodie. It's just as good.

lululemon is made in China and questionable quality at a crazy markup. Not a fan of that company.
Check out Reigning Champ for solid hoodies. Don't own one myself, but their clothes are nice (though full retail price is a bit excessive):

I have hoodies from lulu from 2008 which still look brand new. I've bought some new ones the past few years and the quality hasn't changed from what I've seen. Solid purchases.

My Lululemon pants are easily my favorite piece of clothing. I probably put them on 4 out of 5 weekdays after work and they still look brand new. I will never buy regular sweat pants for lounging around in again.

It was an honest question, as the majority of their clientele is women.
This "manly man" doesn't personally know another guy who actually shops (then brags) about his lulu pants and tops.
I guess my friends are too manly for these foo-foo girly shops.

My second sweater arrived at our US address. The first arrived within two weeks of ordering, but somehow this arrived about four weeks later.

Well yeah but I'm a hoodie guy and I find you are lucky to get two years out of a name brand hoodie these days as they all start to fray and fuzz balls build up on the sleeves, elbows, bottom elastic's etc. I would have no issues paying $100 for a top quality hoodie that is going to still look good after a couple years of solid use.

Interesting enough, every single Carhartt hoodie I have owned has lasted me forever. I basically need to throw them out to get rid of one.

I have a roots hoodie I bought 5 years ago and it's still kept it's shape and hasn't gotten brutally pilly. But I want to try AG's hoodie just to see if it lives up to the hype. My roots hoodie is the only one that's had any lasting power.
