i think it was understated on how horrible the team was when it started this rebuild. They absolutely burnt everything to the ground and essentially became a bad expansion team. I do tend to agree that with the current management nothing will change because to build a successful team you need to be able to recognize talent outside the top ten in the draft. I do have a worry that they will collect another first overall and then clue in and get rid of Lowe.
I also think it is a bit a karmic justice with them intentionally sucking to get picks when they did. Being bad is one thing, but being bad at the right time can really help a team.

They should be able to beat the Panthers. If they don't then they need to start trading asap.

Just reading that both the Oilers and Panthers have 10 first round picks dressed tonight and 2 out of the line up. That's 20-24 first round picks and they are 2 of the worst teams in the league.
