Listening to Galiardi's interview, it sounded like the Flames were indicating a Top-9 role for him. I'm not sure he's envisioning being the 4th line LW.
Other than Backlund, I think all of the centers (don't know about Knight) have played on the wing at some point last year.
Going to be a lot of mixing-and-matching...

Not off the hop but this is how I see things shaking down. I don't think Cammy remains a flame and I think Monahan does 9 games and heads down, which unless he really impresses will be a good decision imo.

I'm going based on current contracts, where people expect the team, and commitment to player development I expect a more balanced roster. My gut tells me we will see at least one or two guys signed and one guy traded away still.
Cammaleri Stajan Stempniak
Beartschi Backlund Jones
Glencross Knight Hurdler
Bouma Monahan Horak
Jackman/McGrattan (injuries/div games)
Giordano Wiseman
Brodie O'Brien
Butler Russell
Breen (spot duty vs Edm & Van)
Ramp
McDonald
????? Byron Nemisz
Bancks Reinhart ?????
Hanowski Granlund Eddy
Ferrland Street Howes
Cundari Ramage
Wotherspoon Smith
Billins Martin
Berra
Ortio
Brossoit
B Jones waived
By the end of a full season I could see this line up being 2 impact players away from being vary effective. Greatly depending on the wild goaltending competition we are all hoping for. But it could be an ugly start to the season.
Edit: I forgot about Galiardi. I guess to start he will bump Bouma to the Heat

Berra/MacDonald
Ex:Smith,Billins Knight

Guys we could use: Brunner, Grabovski, D.Roy,
Heat
Granlund Byron Henowski
Elson Horak Howse
Ferland Reinhart Eddy
Street Bouma Nemisz
Breen Cundari
Martin Lamb
Ramage Wotherspoon.
Berra

I think people are forgetting 1 key factor when they say we need to move people, that being injuries. Most of the time there is at least 1 top 9 forward and 1 defenseman injured at any given time. So having 10 top 9 forwards is a good thing!
Without Monahan making it out of camp
Baertschi - Backlund - Cammalleri
Hudler - Stajan - Jones
Glencross - Knight - Stempniak
Gailardi/Bouma* - Horak/Reinhart* - McGrattan/Jackman
Brodie - Giordano
Butler - Wideman
Cundari/Russell - O'Brien
Smith* - Breen*
Ramo - MacDonald - Berra*
* - injury replacement, otherwise in AHL

Got to wonder when Paul Byron is in the plans. 2 years ago, he would have been on this team and Feaster said he would be back here "ASAP" ... since then, its been pretty quiet.

Its great to have 10 top 9 forwards, not so great when 7 of them would be 3rd liners on a contender.
Bodies need to be moved out eventually, because we need to make space for high end players when we can find them, but there should not be a big rush. Unless you can upgrade a guy (via trade or free agentcy) and then trade him away for assets.
Otherwise wait until games start and hope some young guys can start taking roster spots away from guys, then start pushing the Cammaleris, Stempniaks, or Stajans out of town.
On D, we still only have 3 guys and can even claim to be top 4 dmen, so that should be interesting at least.

Most likely in my opinion until more changes occur:

Galiardi-Bouma-Jackman
McGrattan
Brodie-Wideman
Giordano-Russell
Butler-O'Brien
Smith
MacDonald
Ramo
AHL
Byron-Reinhart-Street
Ferland-Knight-Nemisz
Elson-Granlund-Howse
Bancks-Jones-Hanowski
Breen-Cundari

We do have an enormous amount of bottom-9 forwards. My main worry about this would be that it takes away a roster spot from a promising youngster like Reinhart, or possibly even Sven. The bright side is that there will be a huge amount of competition for these roles & it should force all of the players to up their compete level. The message should be: 'No one's roster spot is guaranteed'.
Wotherspoon, Ramage, Cundari, Breen & Kulak should all be fired-up to compete for bottom-pairing roles & could make a serious splash come September, possibly demoting D.Smith to the Heat.
Safe money should go on Monahan having a 9-game cameo in the NHL, followed by a return to the CHL. How NHL-ready are Poirier, Klimchuck and Eric Roy?

All I care is Baertschi gets lots of time on the first unit PP and McGrattan lives up to his threat of killing anyone who touches Baertschi. Unfortunately, McGrattan's too nice of a guy, if the other player wont drop his glove McGrattan has shown before he wont do anything. Hopefully he's meaner this year, cause mean McGrattan best McGrattan.
Other than that I'd be pleased if they went with something like:
Cammalleri-Backlund-Hudler
Baertschi-Stajan-Stempniak
Glencross-Knight-Jones
Galiardi-Reinhart-McGrattan
If Cammalleri's still around he needs to be in a top 6 position until he's dealt. Backlund has had much worst linemates during his time with the Flames. Maybe put this line in more of an offensive role, but I'd say give about equal even strength time to the 3 top lines, so I wouldn't call this the "top line."
Stajan and Stempniak were the most consistent line last year, and simply put the best forwards. As long as that holds true, let Baertschi play with them. If we get 2011 Stajan instead of 2013 Stajan though it's time to cut ties.
Glencross' line makes up the energy line, all big 6'1''+ players 200+ pounds. Hopefully Glencross stays physical and doesn't forget what makes him good like he likes to do and Jones uses his size a bit better but that has the makings of a good energy line that isn't offensively inept. If Knight struggles, give Reinhart a chance. And of course only keep this line together as long as the other ones are being pushed around. If Backlund needs size on his wing give him Glencross and/or Jones.
Fourth line, I'd say dress McGrattan as much as possible. Galiardi moves up the depth chart once/if Cammalleri or Stempniak or gone or there's an injury but I don't see much room for him in the top 9 with the wingers the Flames currently have.

I would line them up like this:
Cammalleri - Backlund - Hudler (#1 line)
Baertschi - Stajan - Jones (Jones size to create space for Sven)
Glencross - Knight - Stempniak (Checking line with scoring punch)
Galiardi - Horak - McGrattan/Jackman (energy line)
Brodie - Wideman
Giordano - O'Brien
Butler - Cundari
Russell - Smith (both spare)
Ramo
McDonald/Berra

A Coyotes fan? Wow, didn't know such a thing existed. The STH's in Phoenix aren't even Coyotes fans.
EDIT: Upon further review, the Coyotes have one incredibly craptastic squad themselves.

Probably a moot point because there have to be more moves before the season and Hartley loves to juggle the lines anyway, but I'm bored and this thread can surely handle a 365th depth chart ^^

Comments:
- I really struggle to find a lineup combination with both Cammalleri and Hudler in it. I first put them both on the first line but having two small guys like that on the top line seems a bit scary. Putting one of them with Sven and Backlund also didn't seem right in terms of size, I really didn't want to split Galiardi and Jones and you simply can't put one of Cammy and Hudler on the 4th line. One of them has to go ... I suspect it will be Cammalleri.
- I thought about putting Monahan on there too, but I'd prefer him back in the juniors for another year. Put Stajan in the top 6 and let him rack up some points, so maybe we can flip him for something at the deadline.
- Galiardi-Knight-Jones seems like a combination that makes a lot of sense on the third line. Lots of size and grit, plus Galiardi and Jones have some previous chemistry (they played quite some time on a line with Stastny a couple years ago). Has the potential to be a good energy line.
- don't really like Horak on the 4th line, but right now, there's no spot for him in the top 9. I guess against divisional rivals a combination of Jackman-Bouma-McGrattan makes more sense anyway.
- that defensive line-up is scary as hell ... it's essentially Wideman, Brodie and Giordano plus a plethora of 5th/6th/7th defensemen. A Russell-Butler pairing gives me nightmares, but for obvious reasons I don't really want to put Butler with Brodie. Don't know too much about Russell, maybe he can jump up.
- leaving Reinhart, Breen and Cundari out of the roster kinda sucks but right now, I don't see a spot for them. Maybe Breen and Cundari can come in and steal a job from Russell or Smith ... Reinhart should be the first call-up option (beside Byron).
- no matter how you spin it, you're looking at a sub-par line-up. Should guarantee us the first top 5 pick in franchise history, I guess.
