Agreed, aside from maybe Kessel the Leafs have a bunch of second liners essentially. Decent enough talent overall, but not Cup contenders yet. Kessel is a pending free agent anyway, and will probably be asking for 8 million. So no guarantee he'll be there next year anyway.

Can live with Bozak at $4.2 but to buy out Grabovski's 4 years and $5.5 only to then go and sign Clarkson for 7 years at $5.5 is ridiculous.
No idea what Nonis is thinking here.

But it's the first day of UFA signings, so most of the bigger deals will be bad. Happens every year.

Yeah I agree he's done well so far I'm not being hard on him. I'm just hoping it continues. Even if he gets someone for a decent price I like the situation right now where our prospects are going to get a lot of ice time and will be relied upon in key situations. I think that's fantastic for development. And I want these European goalies to get a shot, signing Ramo was a good step in that direction. I don't want him to say "Oh we can get Bryz/Thomas for really cheap lets go for it".
