Reading the thread, it seems as though Walker was speculating who the Flames would sign, not that they will sign him. The original poster stated it as though they will sign him and is getting questioned................that's how rumors start lol.

He's still 26, and some have said was the best C on Toronto, and still on the upswing. So long as it's not 8 years / 6 mil or something ridiculous.

We are still struggling to ice a legit top 6 center now. (though some potential ones are developing). If they can sign him at 4-5 mil / 3-4 years, I'd say go for it. Don't know why people are scared s###less about it. Just as long as they don't get into a huge bidding war.

Because he's almost the same player as Stajan but is guaranteed to make more money for a lot longer. One Stajan is bad enough.

Guys like Bozak and Raymond are fine if they're just cheap fillers. They do what they're supposed to do. They are adequate. But they are not guys you spend big bucks on or count on to be key contributors. That's how you end up like the pre-rebuild Flames.

The combination of the Flames wanting to improve their roster at centre, and a big pile of money burning a hole in Feaster's pockets, means something daft is likely to happen.

4 x 4 or even 5x4 is better for both party's... takes him to 30 and then he can potentially cash in again even higher as the cap goes up.

Would lightning strike twice? There's always the buyout option. But I wouldn't sign him for any more than 4 years. 3 would be a lot more comfortable, though.

I think it's a little bit different. Stajan put up his numbers on some god awful Leaf teams that didn't make the playoffs.

Bozak was an integral part of a Leafs team that made the playoffs last year and almost upset the Eastern Conference Champions.

Bozak was a contributor to a winning team. Stajan was never a contributor to a winning team.

That's the most positive spin I can put on it.

So was Manny Malhotra before his eye injury, but he certainly never demanded 8 years at north of $5 million.
