Jay is in Toronto, as just seen in video on NHL website news clip.
Clearly needing to lie low as the trades are being lined up. Last place he wants to be is in the media eye while arranging confidential trade plans.

It is fun to have a go at someone....but I wouldn't mind maintaining a bit of class on the forums (I know, I know).
Let's not play master of the obvious and make fun of him because he is overweight. I doubt he is thrilled about it, and I think he's acutely aware of his physique.
Grade seven was a blast, and I think we can leave the Subway and Burger King jokes back there.

Typical. Partying in Toronto instead of working at trades in Calgary. Disgusting.

Dreger mentioned (not sure where or when) that the Leafs are looking to package depth for talent. Feaster just happens to be in Toronto already for the GM meetings and may have some talent available.
Could you imagine another Maple Leafs pu pu platter for Jay Bouwmeester or Mark Jordano?

LOL, package depth for talent.
Here, take three third liners, and give us your top-line centerman.
GM's can't resist taking quantity for quality! And the more checkers you add, the better the center gets!
Typical HF-esque fluff. And not surprising it's coming from the Leafs.

Yeah I don't think any GM will get overly excited over that idea. Well unless, Sutter becomes the GM of the Kings.

This makes me wonder about their evaluation of guys like Jankowski I actually question if they can evaluate talent correctly now.
|
What on earth does the O'Reilly offer sheet have to do with Jankowski? That just makes no sense.
With O'Reilly we may not have gotten a top 10 pick for starters. Nor is it written in stone somewhere that with us he'd have been our 2nd line centre. Also his contract was for 5.5 cap hit not 6.5.

Just odd, the silence

That didn't stop him last year during the trade deadline when he was (supposedly?) working 2 deals / then re-sign Jackman.
I think he's learning finally learning that being a smooth talker isn't going to win him any kudo's. If he really wants to keep his job, he has to do his job and just not talk his way through it.

Bubba was put in the corner and told not to move till the deadline is over Feaster's gaf was to big to let him have any say in the teams future. If the flames move forward with Feaster the fans will not be happy unless he pulls something big out of his arse and fleeces a G.M or 2 and we all know thats not going happen. In all likelyhood we will hear from him when hes in T.O he cant out run the media lol.

But not when it involves Kyle Wellwood or Dave Nonis, right? Then it's open season.

See above with the reference to Grade 7 posts.
I don't see how everyone thinks one slightly problematic interpretation of the CBA, which we as fans clearly don't have the skills to interpret properly, makes Feaster expendable after doing some good work to retool a flailing roster with a good level of skill. He's even smart enough to realize we need a #1 center (something Darryl never did) and make several attempts to fill that void. He's been drafting very well, no debating that fact. He's done nothing but decent to good moves for the franchise. Just because we're losing at the moment does not mean he's doing a bad job. T his was set in motion years ago with Sutter.
It's time to lay off Jay Feaster.

Really? Are we just going to make stuff up now? Darryl always talked about a No 1 C (remember the comment about how he had a dream once he had a #1C?)... he wanted to try converting Tanguay to C, picking up of Langkow, picking up Olli (ok so it failed, but at the time he was acquired he was putting up #1c points)
Also... Feaster is so smart to see the significance of C that we are loaded on depth for the C position... amirite?

The fanbase won't let him live down things like "intellectual honesty" "the answers are in the room" so I think he's decided to just shut up
