Considering the last time the retro's were used as a home and away set I was only 7, I don't think "feeling young" is too much a factor for me. The fact is a lot of people think they're the best jersey the Flames have worn, period. Others think they should be hung up and move on, which a valid opinion.
Not sure what's with the petty insults though, if you can't handle people having a different opinion then your own then you probably aren't going to last long here anyways.

Best new iv heard as of late. I really dont like our home and away jerseys, to many fine stripes and small details. I love our alternate tho, its clean and simple. Exactly how a jersey should be. I hope the new ones we get are like that too. Or our alternate becomes our standard home game jersey.

I'm down for the retro jersey with black substituting for red. Black is a mean colour and while the team itself is soft at least they can look somewhat badass.

I hope this ends our piping era. Jesus Christ piping is awful.

No need for new jerseys as a 3rd, the current jersey's are turd, the retros were at least nice to look at. Can this franchise do anything right?

I don't know how anyone could not like the retro jersey. The retro jersey IS the Calgary Flames. They won the Stanley Cup in it. They had amazing teams in it. The C is not black. Just like the Leafs, Wings, Habs, maintain a traditional look that will always be in style, the Flames retro jersey should be the primary jersey, end of story.

^ politely disagree. The retro jerseys are 'too' retro IMO. Yes they are major part of the flames heritage but the jersey should not look like its been pulled out of the 80's. I'd prefer the flames streamline the retro look much like the Toronto Blue Jays did recently. Classic yet modern.

This site is the first time I've heard anyone (flames fans at that) complain about the retros. Current home and away are a mess, too complicated. Alot of rival fan friends have even gone so far as to say the retros are what make the flames bearable for them haha.
Management, since you're obviously reading this and just waiting to tally up comments before making a final decision, I vote full time retros with a new third.

If the Flames bent to my every whim they'd go retro full time, fix up their road threads and use the 3rd jersey for something modern & gimmicky.
But because it's the Flames and there's money to made, they'll ditch the perfect retros, keep the fugly nascar home & away and introduce something putrid for the 3rds... yeah I'm in a bit of a mood.

I like the retros, but when the black C first came out, I thought it was the best. I think people just get tired of the same thing.

Reebok says Flames are swapping out retro third
This one definitely gets a big question mark from me. According to Reebok's catalog, the CALGARY FLAMES are apparently eyeing a new third jersey for next season.
The logical question you have to ask is, why? Why dump the brightly-colored retro alternate in the first place? Are fans complaining about it? Are they not buying them? Can't imagine either of those are true. Or that a new Flames third jersey would be any color but black. Which will excite almost none of you.
Here's my hope. Maybe the NHL is wising up to the retro trend and allowing teams a "fourth" throwback jersey. That would allow the Flames to keep their 1980s-style red sweater while also experimenting with a new third design. Then maybe they'll add a few "Retro Nights" throughout the season. On those nights, every team that has one gets to break out their throwback.
But that's all just wishful thinking. Would be nice though, right? And for what it's worth, we've had no confirmation yet from the Flames that a new sweater is forthcoming.

The reason I put this is the Reebok catalog is pretty accurate with what is happening. The only this that could change it is he lockout may have changed the deadlines.

The Flames are on pace to have about 5 jerseys. They might even bring those Heritage Classic ones back!

I dont like the old shade of red, it is too orange. The darker 2004 shade of red and current redis nicer. The vertical stirping is awful so I have never bought one of the edge jerseys.
I would like to see home games against Canadian teams be in the retros and the rest in the similar colour scheme to now but clean it up the piping and get rid ofthe flags.
I am not a big fan of thirds in general if they arent retros but if they are doing thirds a retro away jersey would be cool and allow us to wead whites at home for the occasional game.

Just seen KK at the Dome. He confirmed the 3rd jersey is coming. Also, he said it won't be anything close to the last 3rd jersey. Go Flames Go!

If you ask most here advocating to go full ######, ugh I mean retro, they will tell you the red is the same. It's not. It's been proven. Regardless they need to be hung in a special closet next to the clothes you only wear once in a blue moon. There's plenty of people who share this opinion all over the Dome tonight. Talked to my friend inn the FanAttic and sales are 5:1 edge to Retro.
As for black being a tacky gimmick of the 90's, retro is a tacky and most time gawd awful ugly gimmick of the 00's.
