UNH up 2-1
Gillies had made an outstanding save on a breakaway after it was 2-1

another PP tally for Providence. 3-2 Friars towards the end of the 2nd.
EDIT: apparently Janko had an assist on that goal.
Mark Divver @MarkDivver
Saracino from Jankowski and DeJersey at 17:13. All freshmen.

Penalties seem to be killing UNH right now.
I hope they can come back in this game.

Sounds like Janko had an assist on the 3rd goal. So 1G 1A for him so far today? I wasn't listening when the 2nd goal was scored. Exciting game so far.

Yup, 1g 1a, 3 shots on net already, sounds like he is having a great game today. Also, that Saracino kid is sure picking up his game when it matters with another 2 points already today for him.

This is a must win game for Providence as they won't make the tournament if they lose. UNH will still get in regardless.

Yes! go Friars & Eagles!
BC should be a lock for the NCAA tourney already but the Friars should definitely be in after knocking off one of the higher seeds in the country.
Around the NCAA......
Notre Dame advances with a 2-0 series win. Nick Larson has 1 goal in the series.
Michigan State is tied 1-1 in their series with Miami of Ohio. They are losing in the final game 2-0 after 1 period of play. DeBlouw has 1 goal in the series.
Wisonsin Badgers won their best of 3 series 2-0. Ramage had 1 goal and 1 assist in the series.

Rooting for a BC vs Providence final. Four Flames prospects in the HE final would be wicked
Really impressive how far Providence have come this year, given that they are such a young team.

I think if they had any other college goalie they would not make it nearly as far. Gilles has been outstanding especially for a freshman.

No, my brother played there from 95-98 so I try to keep an eye on how they do from time to time.

Michigan state lost 4-1 today, they are eliminated.
Props to Matt DeBlouw on a great freshman season, let's hope for even better next year.

Of note with this series - Michigan State scored 5 goals total, and DeBlouw had 3 of them. A very impressive finish for him.
