*full disclosure, I work for Lowe's*

Just received our fresh cut trees this past weekend. I think we're the only big-box that has all of our trees unbundled so you can see their shape. After you pick one, the associate will cut off the end (that is plugged with sap), then will loosely bundle it back up so you can get it home.

Any more suggestions on where to go to cut one down this weekend? The plastic base just broke on my old fake tree and I think it's time to get a real one.

I went out toward Kananaskis, scouting the area for a good tree that I could come back to cut down with the family. Somehow ended up around Morley. Gross.

I too would love suggestions of where to find a tree. We have a 14' ceiling in the living room and a normal tree doesn't look great so we have to go 9" ish, which costs a stupid amount. I want to wear a checkered shirt and go cut one down.

BUMP!

Anyone know what's up with this tree cutting permit website?
I can't see the maps at all.

Who has a good spot to scout for Fir trees?
My plan is to go out, find and tag one, then return closer to mid month with my 4 year old so he can "help" me cut it down.
I've seen the Junior Warden Site but don't really want a Lodgepole Pine

Any suggestions would be awesome

I can't remember the last time I put out any Christmas decorations.

Must be temporarily down, I was just on there today and was able to login and buy a permit.

Went out to Waiporous this afternoon with the kids, good fun, ran into a lot of hunters on the last day of the season though.

Get your tree fix on the north side of route 66... About 47kms from Calgary or 35 minutes.

FYI, the Scouts Canada lots have some real nice trees. They're not bundled, so you can take a good look at them before buying.

Cut down our tree this afternoon, near Indian Graves campground on HWY532, west if HWY22.

It's been an extended family tradition of ours for a while now.

Cut ours on Saturday, didn't know what the JFR lot was about, had a real permit, luckily didn't find any in there and then went to a spot off of 68 between sibbald lake and jumpingpound forest. Was so excited to cut down a tree! Gonna do this from now on.

Big thanks for that. I went to the Bragg Creek area last year and was glad we chose the one you suggested this time around.
Lots of great pickin's in that area.

We have 14ft ceilings in the living room, so this beast was a gem to find.
