If you can't be confident, at least be enthusiastic. Unthrottled enthusiasm will open doors just like confidence.

Confidence is like underwear. It is important to have it, but not necessary that you show it off.

Confidence is like a table. Each leg of the table represents an area in your life that you feel confident in, and the table top is how confident you feel overall as a person. The problem a lot of people have is that they only worry about propping up one leg of the table. People spend countless hours in the gym to look good but that's only one leg of the table. If they had a serious injury and were in a wheelchair the rest of their lives their table would tip and their confidence would be shattered. Same goes for the guy who has a super hot girlfriend that eventually breaks up with him. All his confidence was propped up by her and now that she's gone so is his confidence.
Unshakable confidence comes from being well rounded and confident in many different areas of your life, so that if one leg of the table goes you have other sturdy legs to hold up your confidence.

I think confidence comes from doing your level best at everything you do, so that you begin to see who you are in your work. Of course your work can take many forms, including your job or profession, your family, or serving your Community.

A confident person would name the thread Confidence, not confidence.

Last time I checked, if a table lost one of its legs, it would still fall/tip over.

You can just cut the other legs down to make it stable again.
Is this where the 'table legs' analogy starts to fall apart?

"What do you people think about confidence as a personality trait?"
I need two things in my personality to be absolutely successful in life - one of them is complete "Confidence". The other is complete "Control".
This is what I try to live by: Control yourself from doing things, and at the same time, when you do certain things, be 100% confident about it. This creates balance.
