Prior to Christmas I ordered something for pickup at BestBuy. My screen froze on the receipt screen and I didn't get an email confirmation. I was about to re-order it when about 2 hours later the confirmation finally came to me via email.
Did you actually have an order number on your screen? If so, you are likely OK.

Really really pondering whether or not I should get those Monster Copper Turbines. Not that I need headphones, but for $300 off retail (and even the best price I can find online is still $200+ shipped), that seems like a smoking deal.

$400 for earphones? What kind of glue does one have to sniff to decide to buy $400 earphones?
Sometimes I think that a good business model would be to make something just like anyone else, but for no reason at all, charge 50x more than everyone, and watch the idiots come streaming through the doors.

Thanks Ken. I did get the order number, so I think I'm ok.

True, but for a $400 pair of headphones the materials in them is around $40 so for $95, the mark up isn't too bad. I'd never spend $400 on a pair of headphones though, that IS insane.
I know for some headphones (I won't divulge the whole story), the way they were made was so intensive and that the selling cost of $180 didn't even cover there costs because of other issues. A lot of tech. goes into some of these things.
On the other hand, I know that the Dr. Dre Beats that retail for $380 cost about $40 to make.

I picked up a Manfrotto tripod and head from the Future Shop online sale. I printed off the confirmation # page and it says my order information and invoice has been sent to my email but that was 1.5 hrs ago and I haven't gotten the email yet.

I tried logging on to check the status, but it said it won't be updating until at least the morning of the 25th. I'm guessing that's probably when all the backlogged email confirmations will go through.

Most of the real deals seem to be on little things, like HDMI cables and memory and accessories. Otherwise, it looks pretty meh to me.

I've heard the deals on Superbowl weekend are suppose to be better than the Boxing Day deals. I was planning on getting a new TV too but I think I'm waiting until then since ironically that's the same week I'm moving to North Vancouver.

That's interesting. I wonder if the same thing happens at the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs (in Canada at least). That's pretty much the only time of year (except maybe during Wimbledon) that my interest in TVs tends to go up to the point I might have snapped one up when a deal came along.
As it happens, I did end up picking up a new TV tonight after all since one of their doorcrasher deals was particularly good. Now I'm in the waiting-for-confirmation club.
I hope you like skiing. One of the prime benefits of living on the North Shore.

Being a Manitoba boy I haven't really done much skiing in my life but if the opportunity comes up I won't pass it up. That's if I can find time away from school.

Managed to get a 32" LCD tv for $199 as well as a Blu-Ray player for $49 from bestbuy.
Can't complain on either for what I'm planning on using them for.

I also got these
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...90f92eb1c2en02
My current printer is about 3-4 months away from being ready for the garbage, and for $100, the ink itself is worth about $80 so there's that. Just saving a few bucks when my current one inevitably blows.
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...4acbba15d0en02
I bought a couple cameras from an office depot close out sale for like $40 each, but they didn't have any memory and have been waiting for a good sale since.
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...f3d6a2d409en02
I have a bunch of files on my computers that I would like a backup for, and they only take up about 45 GB of space, so this is a good alternate for me.
Regular retail on all of those was just short of 600 and got them for 240 after taxes and gst etc.

Will be buying an XBox/Kinect combo.
Even a cheapskate like me can't resist the $199 pricetag.

On amazon, was able to pick up all 7 seasons of the west wing for $91 and the first 3 seasons of breaking bad on blue ray for $64
The have deep discounts there for things like drills and such, 3-400 dollar for ones 100. I don't need any but I know that others might

Some people do things with sound for a living. $400 is entry level stuff in some circles.
