It's funny, huge typhoon coming and no one cares even a little bit.
I remember being totally underwhelmed by my first typhoon when I lived in Taiwan too. I had such high hopes for a big storm, and then when it hit I felt like it was just a bunch of rain and wind. Life went on pretty easily, though Khaosheng had a lot of big issues as far as I remember. It didn't live up to what I had expected.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure they just took the price per bottle and multiplied it by amount in the flat. The smart water 12 pack was $23.88, so $1.99 per bottle, and the Dasani 24 pack was $40.56, so $1.69 per bottle. I think its more of just them trying to sell the items at the individual price than trying to "gouge".

That is a real pro spin there, you ought to bottle it.

So how tall is Mr. Hill? I've always been curious. He looks really, really small on stage.

If things get too boring being cooped up in the hotel maybe he'll run through some classic ZZ Top baselines for everyone.

It was a pretty serious storm in Richmond, VA. Thousands of trees down. Power is going down for weeks. We live in a new subdivision with underground power lines, and still no word when we will get power back. 90 degrees without power is not much fun!

Nothing too bad here in Halifax. We had wind gusts last night of around 90 km/h and some off and on rain Sunday afternoon but that was about it. Just a typical day really. We were quite far from what was left of the eye though.

I didn't even have to take down the umbrella from my patio table. Pretty tame here.

I chained my bbq up, since I'm 10 floors up, but other than an occasional wind gust, there was really nothing substantial.
It was super foggy yesterday though...I couldn't see across to the narrows for the entire day.

I got out of dodge to Long Island today, but am supposed to be heading out on my honeymoon Sunday....we planned on a roadtrip up the east coast of New England, and it looks like we might have this skank escorting us for a while. I don't have indoor parking for my car in Long Island, so at the moment, I found a hotel in New Hampshire with a garage that it looks like we're going to ride it out in.
growing up in Florida and being through some nasty hurricanes I laugh at those who "cant wait" for Irene to get there, that is until things happen and their house is flooded or they lose everything.

I love weather events, I love tornadoes, but when I saw the devistation and heartbreak with my own two eyes I never want to see another thing like that again. Thinking about it almost brings tears to my eyes, I don't really remember much from Hurricanes in Florida except "camping" inside the house hoping that it wouldn't blow away.

If any of those deaths were anywhere near me that might have been an applicable comment
