I've been listening to alot of Bedouin Soundclash lately. Mostly because of BSD.

I second the recommendation of Bedouin Soundclash. I saw them at the Uni earlier this year and they were really good live too. I missed BSD, and didn't know they were playing it until after. Too bad, would have liked to see them again.

I'm going to plug the virtues of Joe Henry--I never hear anyone talk about him so I'm guessing others might not be familiar with him. In my mind he's second only to Tom Waits in terms of the singer/songwriter/storyteller genre, and his influences and styles are just as eclectic (and a voice that can be just as challenging as Waits' but in a different way). For the unfamiliar, I'd recommend anything from the Fuse or Trampoline albums--Great Lake, Skin and Teeth, and Like She Was a Hammer, Trampoline, and Ohio Air Show Plane Crash.

The Motorhead show last night was terrific. Lemmy will be 60 this year, but shows no sign of slowing down. Corrosion of Conformity had a great show as well. Felt sorry for the bands, not alot of room on the tiny stage in the Whiskey.

Wax Poetic has some good stuff out. They do a song with Norah Jones called Angels which is one of my favorites. If you like Massive Attack and Bjork, you'll probably like Wax Poetic.

I'm going to have to agree with Spydermal, Against me is an awesome band
I know the Alkaline Trio are fairly well known, but I managed to get a hold of their newer album about 2 months early, so far its pretty good, but good mourning, and from here to infirmary are much better.
They've been mentioned here many times, Flogging Molly - within a mile of home is still getting a lot of play.
For those who like metal, I've been listening to Killswitch engage, and anxiously awaiting the new Avenged Sevenfold album, their last album was damn good...


Other than that Bombshell rocks - from here and on

been getting back into Bracket, my favourite album is E is for Everything.


Really though there's been very little music out in the past few months that I've liked much.

The new Audioslave and Foo Fighters CD's are due out May and June respectively. The new single from Audioslave is available on their website, and the Foo Fighters CD will contain one CD os rock songs, while the other is acoustic, which is nice.

Just thought I'd inform anyone that didn't know.

In terms of recommended music, Goo Goo Dolls, Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Led Zeppelin, I Mother Earth, Our Lady Peace, Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Collective Soul, Stone Temple Pilots, Guns N' Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, Collective Soul, Jimi Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Matthew Good Band, Metallica, Megadeth, Three Days Grace, Finger 11, Greenday, Pearl Jam, Moist, The Offspring, 30 Seconds to Mars, Velvet Revolver, Live, The Doors, Jimmy Eat World, Faight No More, Three Doors Down, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Bad Religion, basically I like bands from the mid 80's, early 90's, and figure that a lot of music after that is made by talent goons...yep.

Moloko, UNKLE, Kruder and Dorfmeister (who've appeared on Ninja Tune label). Oh yeah and Q Burns Abstract Message. Some of you still more able to enjoy more herbal tobacco's may like Ozric's Tentacles too.

Ozric Tentacles..good choice! I've been listening to their Vitamin Enhanced boxset. Some really good stuff on there. The sound quality is kinda low, but considering it's cassette sourced, still pretty good.

I thought you were an emo fan? I figure you'd know what emo actually is. Good mourning? its a little slower in parts and even lyrically, some parts probably are, but emo? No.. not in my opinion. Although I will admit the newer album seems to be more on the side of emo, as a result I'm not liking it nearly as much as their other albums. From here to infirmary is by far the best though.
It seems that these days everyone's opinion of what is emo and what is not is different. For myself, when I think of emo (which I despise) are bands like thursday, taking back sunday, the used, Sunny Day Real Estate, Christie Front Drive, Promise Ring, Mineral, Boys Life, Sideshow, Get-Up Kids, Braid, Cap'n Jazz, then later Joan of Arc, Jets To Brazil, modest mouse .. The newest band like these that I've hated is Straylight Run... ugh...


There are few albums coming out that I can't wait to hear, the new no use for a name, propagandhi, and of course the dropkick murphy's, For those of you familar with the newer misfits albums, their former singer Michale Graves is releasing a new album with songs similar in style to his misfits stuff, sounds quite good so far, and I can't wait to hear the whole thing!! Here's a link for anyone interested. There is a serious lack of good punk coming out so hopefully these albums help fill that void...
