This Davis Schneider story is wild and very refreshing as a Jays fan. I'm not sure there's anything more he could do to be a bigger folk hero. It's almost like he's the product of a 'create-a-player' function in a video game that someone created as a fun character:

- Drafted in the 28th round in 2017 a round that no longer exists
- Almost quits while playing on the 'A' level Vancouver Canadians but sticks with it
- Forces his way into a big league callup through sheer will working through the minor league system (in June last year he was still with the A-level Canadians)
- Sports an amazing 80s style moustache
- Uses an old random glove from the lost and found from where he coaches in the off-season
- Ties the record for the best 3 game start in the history of the game
- Helps the Jays sweep the Red Sox in a year in which they are struggling mightily against AL East opponents

Not sure how long this can last, but he's probably every Jays fan's favorite player right now!

I bet if the Jays put his jersey for sale next home game he will set a record for jersey sales in a day.

Just a great story overall. Hopefully he can keep it going. It's the bat the Jays have needed all year.

Schneider's thing has been showing improvement and growth at each level he's gone to.

I think we know he's not staying anywhere close to this hot, but I don't think it would be surprising for him to find a way to stick in the Majors.

Well. I did it. I pulled the trigger and bought a Schneider Jersey. Total impulse and he may end up being a footnote in Jays history. But that's ok. It was a hell of a weekend and one of the most memorable Jays stories in a long time. It will be a fun switch up from my Vladdy Jerseys mainly because we're friends off until he learns how to lay off the outside off speed pitches.

Schneider has already doubled Vlads year to date fWAR. Even in bWAR he’s only trailing 1.0 to 0.6. Crazy.

Jose Ramirez has been suspended for 3 games and will miss the series against the Jays. Francona will be suspended 1. The Jays have to capitalize and think sweep against a team that without Ramirez is basically a Triple A lineup.

He appealed so he’s playing tonight. Don’t see why they bother appealing they’re both lucky it wasn’t longer. I just hope the appeal gets rejected quickly so Ramirez misses games against us and not against the Rays who I think they play next.

Damn, I thought this series was in Toronto, I was so pumped that his historic start was going to get an absolutely bananas ovation when he went for his first at bat tonight. Would have been amazing.

Oh well, hopefully he can keep going strong through this series so the crazy fan reaction is still there by Friday.
