Back to back Big 10 winners, nice to see it getting away from the SEC for a spell. Though I'm sure Michigan fans would've preferred 2 SEC teams playing in it instead of what it was.

Think they have to get this game occurring on New Years Day. Which means starting everything at least 3 weeks earlier.

I don't disagree with changing the timing of the game but moving it up three weeks means starting the season 3 weeks sooner which is problematic.

Three weeks earlier is unnecessary.

I thought the on campus playoff games in December were incredible, need to do that as close to the end of the semester as you can.

Stick with NYD for the next round of "bowl games". Then could finish around Jan 15 or so. IMO they need to get away from it having to be on a Monday and should be before the NFL divisional round.

So is everyone excited for the NCAA title game to be the weekend before the Super Bowl?

The Big Ten has considered an idea of a massive expansion of the College Football Playoff that would grow the postseason to 24 or 28 teams, sources told ESPN.

While the idea is in the very early stages, the proposal eliminates conference title games and offers a large number of auto bids for all four power leagues, sources said.

For example, in the 28-team model, the Big Ten and SEC would each get seven auto bids while the ACC and Big 12 would each receive five. There would be two auto bids for the non-Power 4 conferences and two at-large teams.

The 28-team format would put 20 playoff games on campus, which would accentuate the success of that from last year's CFP. The CFP committee would seed the field and pick the at-large teams.

Well I guess team 28 would be closer to team 5 for competiveness than what team 5 was to Ohio State last year, or even the so called third best team.
