Dont think so, all the latest rumors on the Watson suspension are 6-8 games

Jacoby Brissett is a decent option to have for that, dont think Jimmy has shown hes much better of an option

Seahawks are realistically the only team that has a bad enough need for Jimmy, but to their credit they seem committed to tanking with Lock and Geno. Now if/when the 49ers cut Jimmy they might make a run, but that seems like a mistake too. Jimmy is probably a slightly above replacement level QB, Seahawks could be a 7-10 team with him, when they should be gunning for 4-13. But if Jimmy does get free then his market becomes very interesting, not many places he could be a guaranteed starter, but lots of places where he could backup and eventually start.

49ers have kind of botched this situation though. Realistically you can't bring him back and have a guy who nearly took you to the Super Bowl last year as the backup. Lance is probably gonna have struggles this year, much better for him to have Nate Sudfeld as the alternative than Jimmy. But to get nothing at all for Jimmy, even a late round pick, seems like bad asset management.

Yeah I don't think Brissett is a major drop-off from Mayfield. When you consider the talent they amassed on offense in Cleveland you can argue Mayfield was holding everyone back.

I thought there were rumours that the league was pushing for a full season for Watson? With that number of allegations and lawsuits along with the public attention this has gotten, 6-8 games would be a pretty mild suspension. Not putting it past the NFL, but I'd expect more for sure.

There would be a lot of backlash if the suspension is in the range of a half season which is why I'm surprised about these rumours.

The Commanders are obviously the premier piece of #### team in the NFL, but by God the Texans are trying to keep it competitive. Really the only area of the NFL they're competitive in.

The Houston Texans have reached settlements with 30 women who made claims or were prepared to make them against the NFL organization for its alleged role regarding sexual misconduct allegations against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in massage sessions, the attorney for the women, Tony Buzbee, said in a statement Friday.

One of the 30 women already had filed a civil suit against the Texans in June, accusing the team of "enabling Watson's behavior." Buzbee said that case is among those being settled.

I suppose they had no choice but I'm sure if he's worth that especially given his immaturity and the fact that teams are starting to figure out that keeping him in the pocket reduces his effectiveness as he has issues seeing the entire field in the pocket.

I'm sure I'm super far behind on all the DeShaun Watson gossip, but I find it completely outrageous the NFL would consider letting this guy ever play in the league. The Cleveland Browns and any team that bid on this guy should be ashamed of themselves . What an absolute piece of garbage.
