haha even Matt Barnes "twitter" stated he had joined the Raptors. Wow this really doesn't look good at all for the Raptors and any credibility.

Yikes. To be fair to BC, in one case Michael Jordan backed out and this last situation with the Magic seems more like confusion on their part.

But yeah, bad optics. Better to have everything finalized for sure before getting word out.

Not sure you can question the Raptors' credibility because it wasn't them that twitted them.

Looks like Barnes has agreed in principle to a 2 year deal with the Lakers. First Artest and now Barnes, Kobe is bringing in all the guys who have gotten in his face over the last couple of years

Looks like the UCLA education worked out well -from his twitter

Great move by the Lakers. The bench almost cost them last year but this year it is already looking a lot better.

Yeah, I think it's a great pick-up for the Lakers; they've made smart moves this off-season.

Bosh came out with some talk about how different Canada is and some mindless Bosh rhetoric (The man really is not that bright to say the least)

Luckily BC had an interview today on primetime sports and tossed out some of these gems

“Despite limited swelling and any excessive damage on an MRI, he felt like he needed to sit for six more games ... I’m not even questioning Chris’ injury. I’m telling you he was cleared to play subject to tolerance on his part, and the tolerance just apparently wasn’t there and he chose not to play,” Colangelo said.

“The fact that our season was spiralling downward and we were hoping he’d come back sooner and we were also dealing with a few other things at that point ... we were really struggling there.

“Whether he was mentally checked out or just wasn’t quite into it down the stretch, he wasn’t the same guy. I think everybody saw that, but no one wanted to acknowledge it.”

“At the same time, I never felt we were quite in the game (in terms of signing Bosh to a new contract). There was too much out there, too much built up for him to take an easy out here, and he decided to do that.”

Colangelo also said Bosh was hard to build around.

“We tried in vain to put pieces around Chris. Different pieces, different styles. It didn’t work out.”

“No matter what type of player we brought in, it didn’t seem to have the right mix with him as that centrepiece"

Bosh said some pretty nasty things about the city of Toronto too.
I saw some quotes on Sportsnet

Colangelo has a nice way of putting things. He doesn't do it maliciously, but boy does it sting as a player to read the way he puts it. I absolutely love it. Bosh isn't a superstar despite the numbers he puts up and I'm glad Colangelo acknowledged it. In all fairness to Bosh though, that authentic all-star (aside from Marion) was never brought in to play with him and that did hurt (but then again, all-stars aren't available for pickup all the time). But I really love the way Colangelo didn't play the politician and say that Bosh played hard and he legitimately got hurt. He essentially said that Bosh was a puss and didn't want to play at the possibility of hurting his payday during free agency (at least what I read into it).

Even if things don't work out trade wise for this team this off-season, I'm proud at seeing that Colangelo tries to make moves. It's takes at least two teams to make a deal, and while no deal really worked out this off-season, they were solid attempts that fell through primarily at the other teams' faults. Just real bad luck. I'll really enjoy seeing some youth though, and I'm sure it'll make for an almost collage-style play at times.

I think some of the stuff that Bosh said was certainly stupid but this part f the quote is absolute crap.

the Raptors brought in crappy players and players that didn't fit in at all with a player like Bosh. It isn't surprising that those guys didn't work and if he is blaming that on Bosh then he is an even dumber GM than he has shown to be.

The fact that the team wasn't successful since Bosh has been here is a lot more because of Coangelo than Bosh.

Bosh's leaving is the best thing for Coangelo as it gets fans to focus their anger at Bosh rather than looking at the horrendous job that Bryan has done in his time as GM.

I can't get the bosh video to load on my computer. What did Bosh say about Toronto?

I can't find the Bosh quote, I just saw it on sportsnet. Maybe Connected is still looping at this time of day.

Something about how Toronto wasn't America, no how big the city is, it's just different.

"I didn't want to go there," Bosh said. "It was different. All I knew was Vince Carter was there and I never saw him play on TV. It was a whole different country, and it was just different. I'm 19 years old, I didn't know anything about culture and being away from home. All I know is the States.
"Toronto's a great place, a fantastic city. It's a metropolitan area, but you could tell you're somewhere different. You could feel it, you could look at it, you can smell it. Everything. All your senses tell you you're somewhere different."

Ya I've never mistaken Chris Bosh as a genius, but man he comes off idiotic here....and ignorant, too.

My senses tell me he is going to get a rude awakening when he returns to Toronto for the first time next season.

His twitter account and awful viral videos already proved the point, but his little rant on Toronto just made it more obvious what an idiot Bosh is. Just making it easier and easier to cheer against the Heat this year.

Yeah, we've been talking about this in the Blue Jays thread too. It's shocking (and sad) how some young inner-city American kids view Toronto as some far away distant foreign place that they would be scared to go to.
