The traffic circle in McKenzie Towne...oh man, what to say about it. I have never gone through it without seeing or nearly being hit by some ###### going ALL the way around it in the outside lane...and I am assuming that these people live in the area and do the same thing every freaking day.

So how does a 3 lane roundabout work?

I assume the lane on the outside still has to exit at the next exit, but does the person on the very inside lane have the right away over the person in the middle lane?

Why would anyone really go in the very inside lane?

I've seen the huge traffic circle around the Arc De Triumph in Paris, but watching that for 30 minutes I've concluded that the French don't know the answers to my questions either.

I'd be more concerned about this bugger than a 3 laner.

The way 2-lane roundabouts work in Oz, the outside lane can go past one intersection and turn at the second one. The inside HAS to go past one intersection, then it can turn at any intersection after that. It sounds confusing, but it works really well, because you don't EVER change lanes in the roundabout. Of course, in Calgary where it seems most people can't comprehend the difference between yield and merge, there's zero chance they'd be able to master something like this.

Roundabout rule... I do not miss the endless procession of stoplights on Bow Trail.
