The inexperience of even the vets is showing in this series against a core that has been to 3 cup finals and are in the verge of going 2 for 3 in their appearances.
I was pulling for the Sharks but it's not the end of world. Pittsburgh put their big boy pants on for this series. Kudos to them.

Of course the Sharks earned their spot in the Finals. I am not denying that. But what is equally as clear as their impressive play in the first few rounds is how unsustainable that level of play was over the long haul for this particular group of players. Like many teams before them, SJ caught lightning in a bottle and capitalised on it. They had a good run, but the clock has struck midnight and they are a pumpkin again.

Do you expect to see them making a run again next year? I sure don't.

Right. Exactly. I was musing longer term, I guess.
Will be interesting to see with Kessel moving forward - an elite player with what is actually a pretty friendly cap hit. You have Crosby, Malkin, Kessel and Letang all in pretty much the prime of their careers, signed until 2021-22

Their run wasn't just a few weeks. They had been playing very well for months.

Even if you think Thornton and Marleau are going to succumb to father time next season, I would expect a core of Pavelski (2nd most goals in the NHL the last 3 three seasons), Couture, Burns, Vlasic, and Martin to be a solid playoff bet. This isn't some Cinderella story.

Wow I suck at predicting things. I would have thought that it would be the Sharks up 3 to 1, and the Pens didn't have the defensive capabilities against the high offensive Sharks.

Hoping the Pens finish this off in five so this horribly underwhelming playoff season can just end.

I admit having little faith in the eastern teams before the Pens-Bolts series. The speed difference in those games in comparison to the Sharks-Blues series however started to change my mind. Speed tends to beat size.

If Pittsburgh wins the Cup, I hope Kessel fills it with hot dogs and drives a convertible back and forth in front of the Toronto Sun offices with a megaphone.

Watching the Pens, in my mind, completely dominate the Sharks has been pretty impressive. Sharks have no room or time to set anything up. The fact they have even scored goals is a damn miracle. It is not the back and forth series I thought it was going to be but watching these Pens play this way is awesome. I never really gave to shakes of a rats tail about Crosby but he is one heck of a player to watch, does so many little things right. Damn near robotic out there.
Anyways, don't really think it is a boring series but not quite what everyone expected. Sharks blew their load getting this far and really have nothing left.

Better yet, he should drive the Honda CRZ he won from picking last at the all star fantasy draft.

And then flip the bird to Dean Lombardi by announcing he's decided to play for Canada at the World Cup.

If Conn Smythe winner gets a truck, he could drive that too

Prolly not, but does that mean every team sucks except the one that wins the cup? (BTW, I dislike the Sharks a fair bit).

And Schultz skypes the Oilers management to thank them for trading him out of hell.

I'm looking forward to Schultz saying that when he was deciding where to sign, Gretzky and Coffey called him and told him if he signed with the Oilers, he'd win the Stanley Cup within 5 years ... They were right.

Of course not. SJ would continue to suck even if they somehow win the cup for obvious reasons.

Yeah, just can't believe Jultz wins another lottery and most likely gets a cup as well.
