There was a poll and about 90% of CP believes he will sign before the end of the season. Not sure how that makes everyone paranoid.

People are excited is all.. to a point where its almost creepy, but thats how passionate the fans are and thats completely okay.

I'm also not as excited as you guys about his potential. He did get pushed around a lot last night. The dude is tiny. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

And put up 3 points while being pushed around. Sounds fine to me.

We just typically have the worst luck when it comes to these things...I truly hope ol' Johnny boy is willing to turn that around for us.

So mods can ask me for my source and i can provide, but a friend of mine told me that he talked with Brian Burke yesterday and asked him about Johnny. Burke said right to him that Johnny would be in the line up Sunday night vs the Canucks.

He's signing 100% ill put my house on it

I'm as excited as the next guy about this kid's future, will he get knocked around? Yes a bit I'm sure, he definitely needs to bulk up, but the kid is only 20, how skinny are most guys at that age. Being an athlete or not, your body is burning the calories as fast as you can put them in. But by the age 22-23 when he has filled out more he could be a big producer at the NHL level imo.

In the meantime, although he may have gotten pushed around a bit, he still managed 3 points and almost had a couple more which could have won the game for BC. 2pts per game this year in one of the toughest leagues in the world(for this age group), good enough for me at this point.

CalgaryPuck Members - "Has Johnny signed yet"
Burke (growling) - "If you kids ask that question one more time, I'm turning this franchise around and moving it to Saskatoon"
CalgaryPuck Members - "Has Johnny signed yet?"

He obviously was not at the level of Crosby/Kane as a prospect. He is also much better than Gerbe/Atkinson.

Unless it's with Calgary (or Calgary trades his rights), Gaudreau cannot play a game this season, nor even next season on the NHL. His ELC would be in effect longer into his career.

In choosing to not sign with Calgary, he would essentially be throwing away somewhere between 1 and about 5 million dollars in career earnings, plus wasting an important development year in a league that he is way too good for.

In not signing a contract now, he also risks getting nothing for playing hockey ever, should he be injured over the course of next season.

Frankly, anyone encouraging him to stay another year at BC is giving him terrible advice. Probably the worst possible advice.

well you posted the plane seats 8-9 people

Conroy, Hanlon, Gaudreau, Arnold, Ma & Pa Gaudreau, Ma & Pa Arnold, the pilot

9 people. Simply no more room

And if he plays tomorrow he can burn of a year towards free agency. That has to be enticing. And yes I agree. If you are a smaller player, don't rush your development. But when you have accomplished everything at the amateur level (scoring races, individual awards, championship) then it's time to get paid.

Boomer is stirring up crap and laughing his arse off as he cracks his first beer on the course in Kelowna.

He's interviewed Morganti 5 times where he has been told not to worry and he is going to sign.
