I mean you say that but he is probably playing Djokovic, he could legitimately play at this level and still lose to the final boss. That said, yes, this is as good as Rune has looked in his career for sure.
Felix's game concerned me in that it looked like a return to what we'd seen from him throughout the year at a lot of points, when we were just talking about this "good Felix" we've seen the last few weeks hopefully being a new baseline for him. I guess there's a middle ground where he is just "good Felix" more often, but these lapses really need to be few and far between if you're going to be a top 5 player.

Yeah, the biggest factor to me is if he is playing Djokovic (and I think Novak will win this upcoming match), will he be able to keep his emotions in check and not be in awe of facing Novak? Novak will likely get a few more returns in play than Felix did today as well. It should be a very intriguing final on Sunday.
/Now watch Tsitsipas ruin it by taking out Novak lol

Djokovic wins the opening set 6-2 and recorded 1 unforced error in that first set.

Alcaraz has an oblique tear (recovery time estimated to be six weeks) and thus will not be playing at the finals in Turin or Davis Cup for Spain.

Terrible, hope he is able to come back in 2023 stronger than ever.

Well, that was a scratchy end to the 2nd set for Novak. Greek Yogurt raised his level, but some strange unforced errors from Novak (12 in total in set 2).

Felix was just confused because after winning 16 games in the playoffs you win the Stanley Cup he thought his season was over

Novak takes the opening set 6-3 - Rune yesterday with a 89% first serve percentage, today 64% with four double faults (two in one game where he was broken).

Rune zips out to a 3-love lead in set2 (big hold from love-40 down in the opening game).
Edit: Holger seems to have caught a second wind and Novak is losing points that he should be winning and getting a little frustrated out there.

Going to a third set in Paris as Holger takes set 2 6-3. The turning point was the opening game of set 2 when Novak had three break points and couldn't cash any of them in, I mean he's usually clinical in those situations.

Novak breaks, but fails to consolidate. Physio giving Djokovic some treatment as Rune is back on serve at 2-3 in set 3.

Live rankings has Rune in the top 10 at #10 and is the 1st alternate for Turin now that Taylor Fritz is taking the place of Carlitos.

As of today, would you take the over/under of 2 combined Slams won in 2023 by Nadal & Djokovic?
For the first time in what seems forever they may not win the majority of slams next year.
