They aren't my favorite team but I've been a pretty big fan of the Chargers ever since they got Herbert. If they can establish a run game this season (they might need to do some shopping before the trade deadline) they will be one of the best teams.

I think they will finish first in the AFC West. Harbaugh has come in and build a bully as they manhandled the Raiders last night. Big, fast, and physical. It's just a matter of Hebert getting over his playoff struggles.

He threw 15 picks last season so this is part of what you get with Smith. He was terrible last night but the Raiders may have the worst offensive line in the NFL so no QB is going to be the answer behind that line.
Yeah even without Mack that defence seemed to be all over Geno. Despite losing Slater and needing to shift Alt over and put Pipkins in at Right Tackle they seemed to keep Crosby at bay for most of the game, and had no problems manhandling K.C. last week. So far the running game appears to be the Chargers one weakness, but I doubt that goes on much longer with Roman and Harbaugh.

The Chargers are fully deserving of all the accolades the Broncos were getting in the offseason as the challenger to dethrone the Chiefs in the AFC West.
Silly question from the casual-est of NFL watchers. Probably didn’t watch a game last year but have watched a couple this year.
On kickoffs, what’s the deal with the defense not moving until the ball is received. Is that a new thing instead of the fair catch thing?

It's the new dynamic kickoff procedure that the NFL implemented last season, in an attempt to bring back more returns while still avoiding full speed collisions.
