Brutal game by the D and forwards. Markstrom has been the best player

the kind of game that's gonna turn your fans off
learn to put up some goddamn goals on pedestrian goalies
you'd swear every guy was sorokin or vasilevskiy the way this team shoots on goalies
why do they make it look so hard.

How can we make it as hard as possible to make the playoffs?
Let’s lose to Chicago.

This is not on Markstrom. The Flames’ defencemen have been BRUTAL. Sure, 18 out of 22 isn’t good enough. But Markstrom’s part of the blame is tiny compared to the defencemen in my opinion.

Game is out of reach for this group, so fingers crossed for a good ol' fashioned drubbing. Maybe if the score is 7-1 they'll feel an appropriate level of shame and respond tomorrow.

“Allowed”.
That’s just a ridiculous take. One bounced off Zadorov’s ass. One was a breakaway out of nowhere. One was a two on one that ended up bouncing right to a backdoor stick. All because the team decided to stop playing on each of those goals.
Now the Flames are certainly not playing well in front of him this year for whatever reason. That’s not on him tonight.

I don't care about the number I care about the chances he's facing. He's made 5 or 6 huge saves.
2 on 1 on Domi, breakaway, 2 on Blackwell all alone in front. Those are just the ones off the top of my head.
This defensive play is 100% to blame, and I get that Markstrom is the whipping boy around here, but you aren't paying attention if the only thing you're looking it is 4 of 22.

Is Markstrom the only problem tonight? Not even close. But making a ten bell save isnt always a good thing (although better than letting the goal in obviously). If you listen to goalie coaches talk they say the majority of big effort saves are a case of poor positioning or a misread prior and having to make a miracle happen.
Markstrom consistenly over bites on the shooter or the read on the pass. Go back and rewatch the 4th goal he gave himself zero chance to make the save because he flung himself out of position.
When the team has a bad game you need your goalie to be your last line of defence. And ultimately the biggest flaws were on the defendera but when you see the goalie bite like that and leave it so the chances of him making the save were zero anyways its concerning.
Vladar is consistently far better positioned and doesnt oversell as often. Id say Markstrom has far better rebound control. Vladar has trouble eating the puck sometimes which leads to other problems but it seems to be the lesser of the two evils right now.

The Flames are the antidote to tanking. Bottom feeders face us and you get one point minimum, maybe two. Have to get your Bedard points from the playoff teams.

On the Lafferty goal, how did we give up a 2-on-1 with Huberdeau the only one back and Coleman diving back in? Where on earth were the D?

Lucic to the 4th line and the 4th line starts getting caved in. What a shocker. Get him off the team.
Sutter's ice time distribution is stupid. We need goals and our highest scoring forwards won't crack 18 minutes tonight.
It's time for Sutter to go. He was embarrassed last playoffs, and he continues to show he is unwilling to adapt. What a stupid contract extension.

Even if you don't blame Markstrom, at the very least admit that the team plays worse when he's in net.

Markstrom the best player in black tonight.
Somehow he is the one taking the flack again. 3 breakaways, multiple 2 on 1s. Christ

He hasn’t even been good. Loses his stick, gives up huge rebounds and where are the Flames? Missing the net lion 4 on 1, not accepting two on one passes.

Anderson pinched in the O zone, Hanifin pinched in the neutral zone.
Embarrassing.

Is Tanev really the duct tape that keeps our D from crumbling into the abyss?
You'd think without him they'd be able to put together a passable performance
