Yeah, he's been fighting it for a while now.

Say what you will about the Greatest of All Time Debate, Pele has always been pure class.

The World will miss him.

RIP Pele, an absolute god of the game. Just one of those names that transcends the sport, like Ali.

Vivienne Westwood, who along with Malcolm McLaren defined the late 70s punk rock aesthetic.

Ian Tyson was my Mom’s favourite. Taking her to see him at The Ranchmen’s when she visited me in Calgary was a real highlight for her. A good memory.

Flames

Back in 1991-92, for the NHL's 75th Anniversary, each team named an honorary celebrity team captain. Ian Tyson was the Flames'.

My family used to go see Ian Tyson perform at Heritage Park on Canada Day in the 90s. Great singer/songwriter. The genuine article.

If you weren't around in the 60's it is impossible to understand how important it was that the two most famous human beings on earth were both black, well spoken and out spoken, this at the same time Wallace was the governor of Alabama, South Africa was still segregated, it was a slap to the face of racism, it was frankly glorious

Pele was the Gold Standard of an absolute Legend.

What he did, when he did it, how he did it?

I dont think what Pele did for the growth of the game, especially in North America can really be over-stated.

And he always did it with grace and class.

RIP Pele. Legend.

You worked your ass off from Day 1 to your last day. You've earned the rest.
