It wasn't an ideal viewing experience, and they're playing their next three games in that arena.
It was made even worse by audio issues in the first period — there was no commentary or rink sound for the first 5-10 minutes. But they cleaned that part up pretty well and the play-by-play guy was good.

It's weird that the Flames, Habs, and Sens have all moved their AHL teams into their NHL arenas this year even though they don't normally play there, but the Jets AHL team isn't playing in their NHL arena even though that's where they normally play.

Thanks for all the updates Scorp - I enjoy catching up on the baby Flames and reading your insights - great job!
That arena is worse - by far - than the rink in Okotoks. Hard to believe that if the Moose couldn't play in the MTS downtown they couldn't find something a bit better than what appears to be a community rink in a rinky-dink town. Hell the rink at the new Y in south Calgary is better than that.

I think he does. And he has the talent to be a top 9 type of forward. Not just a 4th line enforcer.
I'm happy that they are using him in that way more this year too, in a more offensive role with more minutes and some PP time.
Last year he came in thinking he had to be an enforcer, got rocked in a fight, and lost most of the year of development because of it.
Much like his time in the USHL though he's taking a big step offensively in year two, which is great to see and he had really great production in the Slovak league before coming back over to the AHL as well.

other than the Iceplex is owned by Chipman and is the Jets practice facility. I dont think it was ever envisioned to have television done out of there

It looks like Posposil does indeed get credit for this goal. It now reads as Scorp saw it: Posposil from Pettersen and Petrovic.
Posposil finished the game with 2 goals and 3 points.

Pretty impressive tear after getting blown out in their first two games (likely due to the Marlies having a few games under their belts).

I would imagine this just has to do with the fact they want to keep all the teams as separate as possible. If the practice rink has a full sized dressing room for the Moose, then why not let them play out of there? Then it cuts back on the chance of four teams coming in contact with each other.
Probably similar to why the Hitmen are playing out of Seven Chiefs this year.

I think there was more to consider for the Hitman. I don't think they were able to comply with the NHL/AHL requirements. Plus there was a lot of risk with the billet families

Both Pettersen and Zavgorodniy are listed as 5'10". Pettersen looks significantly taller in that clip than Z to my eyes.
