I would definitely expect individual refs to have grudges/biases, but not across all the officials as a unspoken (or spoken) policy.
Individual bias seems unavoidable. If I had to deal with a POS like Kesler or Perry often, I'd for sure go out of my way to punish them in small ways.
I wouldn't be surprised if Gaudreau and Tkachuk frustrate refs with all their yelling and theatrics. Chucky certainly doesn't seem to draw much this season.

GOAT!

Broadcasters should be allowed to interview one of the officials during broadcasts. I’d love to see them have to provide answers to questions like, “What was the decision process here when your were looking right at this guy who punched this other guy in the face?”
Maybe even have a segment with a Telestrator and a guy drawing on the screen to analyze the calls and get input from the official.

Totally agree. I don't believe it for one moment that there's any conspiracy against any team in the league on the part of the officials. NHL refs are the best refs in the world. Yeah, they miss some calls and make some wrong ones; but that's inevitable, the game has become way too fast; plus they have to make judgement calls on which penalties to call and which to let go in order not to kill the game pace.

If the refs/officials rename themselves 'management', people could let everything go. Because then their role will be accurately labeled.

It has nothing to do with the Flames. The refereeing is horrible league wide. And it feels like it's getting worse.

You know what I actually have watched a few non-Flames games as I follow the Bruins too and it’s not the same. Honest to god it isn’t. There are still gaffes to be sure, but not at the frequency or blatancy of what it’s like with the Flames. The Oilers actually seem to get the short end of the stick too. Same with Minnesota.
There are some teams the refs just don’t seem to like.

That's just it, isn't it? That's the game management, which is what drive people nuts. In my mind, they should just call the game.

Has the 2nd unit scored a PP goal all year?? Might as well just roll regular lines after the 1st unit goes off.

Wasn't Healy the guy who refused to call Gaudreau Johnny Hockey early in his career? I think he said he was Johnny Shinny or something like that. Definitely eating those words now.
