FWIW this guy (writes for Last Word on Sports and hockeyprophet.com) who was at the game talks about Jankowski and Schneider. Heat talk starts at 2:15

Jankowski's first pro goal: 1:40

Bonus = Pollock's first pro goal: 3:10

I can't even watch highlights because of that PBP guy who has an orgasm after every Heat goal.

Added bonus - that win puts the Heat ahead of the Oilers farm team.

Worst PGP guy ever. Imagine him calling the Flames' games.

Not big league material with the over the top calls, but I think he's great for what he does

I don't know... I love his calls. I think at the AHL level, it is great to have such an 'excited homer'. I think at the NHL level, there should be more professionalism.

I get quite a kick from listening to him though. Guy is exciting!

It's almost like he's a minor league PBP guy...

yeah, like 80% of the minor league PBP guys are awful. Most of them also have their mics too close to their faces.

The AHL is a professional league. His calls wouldn't cut it in high school.

Listening to the guy is hilarious IMO. Can't take it too seriously.

I find a lot of the US PBP announcers for the NHL teams more annoying, trying to manufacture excitement with their over the top goal calls. At least this guy is in the minors.

And congrats Janko on the first pro goal.

Mark Jankowski's goal.. that long reach, is very reminiscent of a few Joe Nieuwendyk goals!

happy for Jankowski, seems he's had a good start in the AHL. He is one of the guys I could see steal a spot out of camp this fall. In either case, I'm pretty sure he'll see some NHL time next season.

Probably slim pickings for an AHL PBP guy in Stockton.

You don't need to be well educated or well paid to not come across as a raging homer. Anyone can not sound like an idiot screaming at the top of their lungs for a regular season meaningless goal. Can't believe some are defending him because it's in the AHL so that shoud mater less. He could be a great PBP guy for all I know but his goal calls are garbage and he should tone it down if he wants to have any sort of respectability.
