Not a minor accomplishment either, i wonder how confident management is that this kids a sure fire nhler. IMO Sieloff and Wotherspoon are gonna bring some toughness to the flames down the road.

I think Wotherspoon is playing really well. Certainly Jones is helping him out, but I think they're both complementing each other.

Wotherspoon isn't getting 1st unit PP time, so he's still putting up very impressive numbers.

Would be awesome if we could re-unite them at the draft...

It's already been mentioned, but from interviews during this years prospect camp it was highly suggested that Gaudreau would be a Flame next year.

I don't think points should be a key point that fans focus on.

He is unlikely to produce a ton of offense at the NHL level and will be more of a Regehr type upside guy.

If he puts up good numbers in the WHL I wouldn't expect those to translate to the NHL and if he is not producing much it shouldn't be that much of a concern. It is his physical and defensive play that will get him to the league and likely be his stengths in the NHL.

dating back to last year, johnny gaudreau is on a 12-game point streak, scoring 9-8-17. no fair.

From Ryan "I hate all Canadian teams" Lambert, no less.

Ryan Howse already has 3 assists for Utah after two periods, as the Grizzlies trail Stockton, 8-4.

Not surprising, after a weekend where he scored two game winners, Johnny B. Good-reau was named Hockey East player of the week...
An old buddy of mine(pro scout) watched him for 4 games this season and told me simply
Quote:
"can't miss star man who is incredibly strong on the puck despite the reports of his size,he could have twice the points if his linemates could hit an open net, total theft where Calgary got him in the draft"
Too lazy to look up but if Gaudreau were to win the Hobey Baker this year would he not be one of the youngest ever at 19

I think I remember Paul Kariya being the youngest ever and that would be awesome company

In case anyone is interested in Ice Hockey Power Rankings like I am: http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/icehockey-men/d1

Boston College is in first, and the rest of the teams Flames prospects are on are quite a ways down the list. Providence is in 28th and Matt Deblouw's Michigan State is in 34th.

Wisconsin (Ramage) is nowhere on the map.

All this Gadreau talk got me excited. I managed to find some highlights. Gadreau had quality oppurtunities for more points. This kid is all over the ice. Just looks like a super exciting player.

It is currently on the second bullet thing. The video is above a title saying #1 BC beats Notre Dame, 3-1.

CBS's Hobey Baker Watch had Gaudreau as #2 before this weekend's games... you'd have to think his performances will now vault him up to be the favourite at this stage of the season.

Utah lost 9-6. Cameron and Howse had 3 points each, Patterson was scoreless. Wahl and Martin didn't play, for whatever reason ...

Bryan Cameron has 12 points (2+10) in 11 games
Mitch Wahl has 7 points (2+5) in 9 games
Ryan Howse has 4 points (1+3) in 9 games
James Martin has 4 points (0+4) in 10 games
Gaelan Patterson has 3 points (0+3) in 11 games

Those are pretty awful numbers for players expected to push for AHL jobs.

other than Howse those numbers aren't that bad. Cameron is over a point per game, Wahl os close to a point per game, Martin is a defenseman who I have never believed to have much offensive upside and Patterson is a grinder

yeah, Howse had a real slow start to the season ... hopefully this 3 point game gives him some confidence. He has to start producing.

Just curious but anyone know off hand if we have any prospects playing in the OHL or WHL Russian series?
