Oof just looked up the stats.
For all those saying that the Flames were gambling on potential with Lindholm and Hanifin, they are currently out-performing Ferland and Hamilton. Although, despite lower production, Hamilton's possession stats have remained pretty solid.
Throw in the contract situations, and I much prefer the current Flames position than last year. Also considering overall team performance, and impact on players such as Brodie, Hamonic, JG and Mony, this trade has really worked out well.

All the experts said the blockbuster trade in the summer would be good for the Flames long term but not short term. Looks to be a win short term as well thus far.
